my nintendo 64 is messed up. the power light turns on when you switch it on, and the video and audio plugs flicker on the screen and make noise (respectivly), but the game doesn't show up on the screen. we've changed the wires but nothing changed. Do we need a replacement console?

You've probably fried it, if you didn't leave it long enough to dry out before turning back on you will have had short circuits all over the main board, and who knows how many components you will have burnt out.

My opinion - possibly repairable but since you can buy a working one off ebay for £15-20 I'd scrap this console and buy another.

Hi,
A 6ya expert can help you resolve that issue over the phone in a minute or two.
Best thing about this new service is that you are never placed on hold and get to talk to real repairmen in the US.
The service is completely free and covers almost anything you can think of (from cars to computers, handyman, and even drones).
click here to download the app (for users in the US for now) and get all the help you need.
Good luck!

Hi I can't figure out how to get my N64 to work on my samsung flatscreen. My friend showed how to do it a while back but now i've forgotten. I've been told I need a scart cable but I...

Whoever told you you need a scart cable is wrong, The N64 is an old console therefore requires you to plug it in via a standard ariel port. You then should turn you N64 on and search for new channels using your TV menus to either automatically search for them or you can tune your tv manually. either way you will probably need to fine tune afterwards. My ds will turn on but no sound or display

I'm guessing that the battery is overloaded. This might happen if you didn't use Nintendo brand charger/ battery. Buy a new battery or a new console. I wouldn't know, the only issues I have had with my ds lite is freezing games from using action replay.

Same problem exactly

Sorry, but no that is not right. You need a game in order for the system to boot up. I think it is kinda stupid that it doesn't have a start up menu. When you insert the game and turn the system on, it will just jump right into the game.

Hope this helps!!

Thanks!!
