What channel does my Dynex tv have to be on to connect with an insignia converter box with a remote? changed the battery and now can't get remote to work sound and channel.

The digital to analog converters did not exist when the TV was built and the remote programmed. Thus you will have more luck programming the converter box's remote to control the TV. (At least with my converter box, the included remote could only turn on and off the TV. It would only change channels on the converter.)

Most universal remotes only have codes for devices released 6 months or more before the TV was programmed. So a new universal remote will probably control both the TV and the converter box. (Program the converter box using a code for LG or Zenith set top boxes if Insignia isn't listed. LG makes Insignia video products for Best Buy.) The remotes that are programmable by a USB connection to a computer are the fastest to set up.

Try removing the battery, pressing all of the remote's buttons, and installing a new battery. This will resolve most remote control problems.

hold the power on off button down and press the channel up button repeatedly up to 45 times until the tv set turns off.

Called insignia tech. support.
They told me how to fix the problem.
T.V. wasn't on channel # 3.

2. Turn on the convert box; the blue light on the converter box is on. If you press the power button again, the red light on the converter box will be on, but do Not turn it to Red!!! Your insignia's other buttons will not response if it in red light mode!!!


3. Then press the Menu button on the Insignia remote control. A wizard will appear. The wizard does not appear if your TV is not in channel 3 or 4.

So, if you first select Channel 3 for tuning the tv set, then you must later select Channel 3 on the "Output Channel" choice for the Insignia "set-up" menu. Similarly, if you first select Channel 4 for tuning the tv set, then you must later select Channel 4 on the "Output Channel" choice for the Insignia "set-up" menu. Be consistent! If you find that the Insignia menu-screen does not subsequently appear after tuning the tv to Channel 3, then start-over with Channel 4 as your proper tv-tuned station to initiate the pop-up screen for the Insignia menu.

Now, here's an example that assumes Channel 3 is the proper tuning-station for your tv-set within your particular region: You will first tune your tv-set itself (by means of its handheld tv-remote) to Channel 3. Be sure, however that your Insignia converter-box is turned-on and properly connected to your tv-set and antenna.
