Question about Korg Music

Open Question

My korg i3 gets a chime equal to radio out of tune, but if you remove fx1 and fx2 (live stage or any other) the sound is normal for both rhythm and melody. In the style edit mode there is also no wheezing. what could it be?

Not sure if your "booklet" is the full user manual... if not go to this site and go through their "hoops" and download the full user manual. It shows how to put the unit in the mode that merely lights the keys and plays the rhythm, unlike the "demo" mode.

Note the manual is free via the Retrevo site... just have some of those annoying hoopps like email address and entering numbers.

SOURCE: Korg pa50 I have a korg pa 50. The problem with my keyboard is that after few seconds of playing the keyboard starts giving a heavy distorted windy noise. For few tones the distortion is less or nill.

For aproblem of this nature, I would suggest contacting Korg directly. Here is a link to their contact page. Contact KORG

Pa800 no sound

I'm not sure, but I believe this has a small sound card inside like in a pc and later model guitar amps. This card runs reverb and things like that and it also may have a small power plug going to it. I have found on many guitar amps that when this plug gets dirty, or possibly just a weak connection, they usually create static noises and then it echoes that noise. I hope this helps you.

Have a number of chimes that are out of tune...would like to have 2 octaves checked and replaced or fixed, as needed... also am missing one chime... how do we go about fixing our needs?

The tuning is NOT likely to change unless: Metal tube is damaged OR there is dirt or other buildup on the tubes OR there are cracks in the tube. Procure a Korg tuner to check the pitch of these. Do NOT compare against a piano since a piano is "stretch tuned" and may be off up to 22 cents.
The Korg chromatic tuners can be bought for about $20... they are precise. If chimes are cracked, or damaged, that is usually fatal. Dirt can be cleaned.

I am trying to replace several of my Suzuki hand chimes that are so out of tune I can't really use them anymore and can't find a supplier who will sell them individually. Can you help? I need 1 G-4, 2...

Suzuki does sell individual replacements, I bought a few last year. If there are a few unusable chimes now, you can try to tune them, nothing to lose, I was able to tune 8 of ours and 2 others were too far gone and had to be replaced. They tune like a tuning fork, which is what they are. If the chime is flat, you either file the tips, in effect making the legs shorter, this must be done evenly or sustain will be affected, or, the inside of the legs near the tips can be filed, again evenly, to reduce mass. If the chime is sharp, filing is done down in the "******" area.

Tone chime E5 is out of tune and sounds flat. Have replaced the head and this did not solve the problem. What else do I need to do?

"sounds flat" ... What are you comparing this to? Pianos at that range are sharped due to stretch tuning so this would appear flat compared to the piano. Use a Korg or other brand tuner to verify. If it is flat, my educated guess is there is a crack in it. Dip it in a vegetable dye water mixture and usually cracks will show up. This is almost like Magnafluxing they use in the aircraft industry. These are likely made of aluminum and repair if cracked would be hard... one could try to have it welded and then filed down to tune it. I have done this with sleigh bells on a pipe organ, but those were brass.
