Re: Digtal

All sets are Digtal Ready they are telling you that if the only way you receive a signal is by antenna then tv will not work without a converter box, as long as you receive cable or satellite then your good to go!

Do I need a digtal converter box to pick up local stations via antenna?

Some local broadcasting will still be in analog but this is just jor simple programming such as college stations. To get local programming such as NBC,ABC,CBS etc. you will need to get a converter since the government has mandated all broadcast be in digital to free up air space.

Note that it may be a case by case basis for some smaller areas.

No sound on 3 channels

This would be a tuner issue, the tuner is loosing sound freq. and this does happend on a few channels as you stated.

The likelyhood of the station not playing audio on 3 seperate channels is neil so please consider the facts here. I would get one of those digtal external tuners from like to test that fact. These tv's are not digital so also consider the fact that it could be true that the audio was turned off on these standard def channels but still unlikely.

thanks this was a free solution provided by all we ask is you leave ratings and feedback for the solution.

GE TV 25GT 240, manufactured Oct 2001. Does it

This does not have a digtal tuner so you ether need a cable box or a cable provider that still sends RF analog signal over a digtal system meaning a remote converter. Some carriers do provide the cable signal still to the analog tv subscribers but you can get a digital tuner for this for under $30 bucks and participate in the coupon by the goverment. But you answer is it depends on your cable provider.

thanks and I do hope this is Very Helpful information for you when you do leave your feedback and ratings.

Changing to digtal. I have a digibox but with the regional changeover yesterday to digital, I can no longer get any channels. I cannot find where to reschedule the channels on the menu. Please can you...

Look in a Setup menu for a Channel Scan or Auto Scan selection. You may have to set an Input or Antenna setting to the appropriate input (cable or antenna)

My ge tv digital ready?

Your TV is NOT digital ready. IF you do not have cable or satellite, you will need a converter box. If you do have cable or satellite you have nothing to do or worry about as the cable or satellite box will automatically do the conversion for you. Hope this helps

If you wish to continue to use the antenna, you will need a converter. If you only use cable, no converter is required.
