How do I temporarily stop my program from running on my Sunsmart timer

For the GE SunSmart Self-Adjusting In-Wall timers, you can push on the timer door or open the timer door and press the On/Off button (below the Auto button). This is the Timer over-ride. The manual for one of these is available from the manufacturer: https://byjasco.com/products/ge-sunsmart-wall-self-adjusting-digital-timer . The direct link to the manual is currently https://byjasco.com/sites/default/files/product/manuals/15312-Programming-guide-eng-spa.pdf .

For the SunSmart 15 Amp plug-in digital timers, you either press an On/off button or press the Manual button several times to cycle through the options (Auto-Off, On, Auto-On, Off) until you reach Off. See the manual on the product page at Home Depot: https://www.homedepot.com/p/GE-15-Amp-7-Day-Indoor-Plug-In-SunSmart-Digital-Timer-with-2-Grounded-Outlets-White-15079/100685884 . The direct link to the manual is: https://images.homedepot-static.com/catalog/pdfimages/f3/f349ea27-f166-4e42-b84d-d1086a8c3521.pdf .

I hope this helps. Please add a comment with the model of your SunSmart timer if neither of these manuals apply to your timer.

Coati timer 13201

This is old timer since it still uses batteries.
Replace AAA batteries.
This timer also has preset programs. User cannot change preset programs which is the strangest thing I've ever heard about a timer, except vacation timers. It appears the timer turns on-off 6 times each day for no apparent reason that shows in manual.
Moreover, the timer has very complex instructions, whereas other timers are far easier to program.
Buy another timer.

How do you delete a program Intermatic hb88rc

Try removing battery, and then reprogram timer.

Some timers are reset when battery is removed.
Newer digital timers keep programs in memory when battery is removed, but in that case the instruction manual shows steps for resetting timer and deleting programs.

The HB88RC manual does not show steps for deleting programs or resetting timer.

I have set program 1 on and off times and program 2 on and off times but do not know what mode to choose to get it to work!!

People are writing in with problems about HB88RC.
Problems seem to revolve around MODE button and setting automatic for timer to operate programming.

One guy said his timer skipped over automatic.
Another fellow today reported that timer programs would not work.

So maybe your timer has similar problem.
I'm going to e-mail Intermatic with recent information.
I need clarification on your exact question.
Intermatic generally e-mails back and is concerned with their products and customers.

That being said, let's look at your timer problem.
When you finish programming 1 and 2, press Clock button to exit programming and current time shows on display.
At this point, timer should function.

According to manual:
If you press MODE button once, timer will enter override, and lights will turn on.
Press MODE button again, RDM shows on screen and timer enters random mode and lights turn on-off randomly so it looks like folks are home.
Press MODE again and timer returns to Automatic and programs 1 and 2 should run.

Add a comment and let me know what is happening so I can report to Intermatic.
I will post results on this thread.

I have a intermatic ej351c indoor wall switch programmable timer that I have tried several time to program an on time for the lights to come on however the lights does come on. I have followed the...

There might be a couple things that are easy to overlook.

Press the button to see if lights come on >>> if light do not turn on with manual override, then light might be burned out or circuit breaker tripped. Sometimes a breaker is tripped but you can't tell by looking at it

1) The timer is used on incandescent bulbs only. I don't know why, but it says no
  • Compact Florescent
  • Energy Saver
  • Flood lights
  • Halogen
  • Mercury Vapor
  • Christmas lights
  • Candelabra bulbs
2) Is the red indicator light ON?
For programs to work, timer has to be in automatic mode and the red indicator light will be ON
The Switch Timer can be used in two modes. manual & automatic
To switch between modes, quickly press the dial twice:
AUTOMATIC MODE: The Switch Timer will turn your lights ON or OFF according to programmed settings. The RED indicator light stays ON when in Automatic Mode.

MANUAL MODE: Programmed settings are inactive, and
the Switch Timer will only turn the light ON or OFF when
you push on the dial.
RED indicator light stays OFF when in Manual mode.

3) setting current time> lets look at the red indicator light while doing this
Move switch lever to OFF-Clear
Move lever to ON >>> red indicator is flashing
Rotate dial to nearest current time (if it's 7:20 pm, rotate dial to 7:30pm)
Press the dial once to set current time > red indicator light goes off
Do not accidentally press dial or it will set the wrong time....ok we know that

4) overlapping programs/
Make a chart of the times you want to program with ON and OFF plus am & pm
Check your chart for overlapping times that tell the timer to do more than one thing

Rotate dial clockwise to the first ON time >> pay attention to am & pm
Press button and first ON time is set
Rotate dial clockwise to the first OFF time >> watch the am and pm
Press button and first OFF time is set
You can have 48 on-off times >>> which seems a lot for a 24 hour repeat timer

5) try the timer with one program

6) If timer still doesn't work, put switch back in and see if lights turn on that way >>> it could be a loose wire suddenly cropped up

Last step >>> timer is no good, you need another one. We tried.
