Is it a USB keyboard? if it is the driver needs to be setup if its no a USB then your keyboard might be bad or the plug on the motherboard has a short make sure it lights up during startup

Does pointer and USB work? What were the circumstances when it quit working? Please include as many details as possible when you talk about Acer Aspire, as it could be the difference between a driver and a new mo' board. (darned Acers anyway!!)

HI,

1.Please go to run option and type osk and press enter and you will be able to see online keyboard .
2.Open a note pad and click on the buttons of the OSK if it is typing then this is the hardware issue and get it checked.
3.If oSK is also not typing then issue is with your KB.

Touch pad won't work on Aspire 5515.

If the touchpad has gone bad there's not much you can do, unless it just happens to have a loose connection. You can try disassembling the keyboard to get access to the touchpad cable and verify it but to be honest, that's an unlikely scenario.
Can you plugin a usb mouse? Or you could try an external touchpad like the Bamboo made by Wacom although that's a bit expensive. Again, it would need a usb connection though.

Can't find keyboard for acer aspire 5515-any other model same sz

I'm not 100% but the 5500 series all use the same board. What is the DFE model number on the back of the keyboard?

If you can't find a keyboard for it, you could always use a USB desktop keyboard until you find one.

Keyboard not working

is this a windows login password or a boot password

you should have Fn key on keyboard
and another coloured key to correspond for turning on keyboard press Fn and the other key simultaneously
Could be fn f3 keys
if you just bought you may find it in your manual
please let me know if you still need help
if you have a switch above scroll pad you may have shut that off but all models don't come with that option
