I replaced the filter after 6 months, worked fine no problems. I replaced filter after another 6 months and now have no water no ice?????? All was working perfectly until I replaced the filter. I now have removed filter and still have no water nor ice. My husband thinks maybe the line is frozen but I can't believe the timing would be such that all was fine until I replaced the filter and then voila the line froze? Any hints would be appreciated. Thanks

Yes, the line into the icemaker could be frozen. Check it first.

My suggestion , would be to reinstall your old filter or use the bypass piece which came with the refrig . You only need to replace the filter when the water flow starts to slow down or the ice cubes get smaller . Not when the red light comes on telling you to . Manufacturers make a lot of money , due to these red lights .

We have a RF28HMEDBSR Samsung that has really bad tasting ice.

I have the same issue with my Samsung fridge. Water tastes fine, but the ice has a bitter chemical taste - as if there was dishwasher detergent residue in the cup. All the water lines are plastic, I've changed the filter three times in the last four months, I've cleaned out the ice maker and the fridge and even replaced the bin and the ice maker itself and still have nasty ice. We still use the water from the fridge door dispenser but we buy ice. Makes me wonder why we got such an expensive refrigerator!

The water and ice started tasting very bad with a sulfur chemical taste a few months after the water filter was replaced. What should I do?

Did you recently have a water main break in your area about the time the bad taste started or any plumbing repairs in the house?? Could be the filter is contaminated. Try another filter and go from there. If problem is gone it was the filter. If still there---possible problem with refrigerator water system and tubing.

I have an Amana refrigerator, model #ABB1922FEB2. The ice that is made by the automatic ice maker has a foul odor and taste. The water that comes out of our faucet tastes fine, and it's the same water...

Off-taste, odor or gray color in the ice New plumbing connections? New plumbing connections
can cause discolored or off-flavored ice.
Ice stored too long? Discard ice. Wash ice bin. Allow
24hours for ice maker to make new ice.
Odor transfer from food? Use airtight, moisture proof
packaging to store food.
Are there minerals (such as sulfur) in the water? A water
filter may need to be installed to remove the minerals.
Water filter installed on the refrigerator? Gray or dark
discoloration in ice indicates that the water filtration system
needs additional flushing. Flush the water system before
using a new water filter. Replace water filter when indicated.

Water stopped working, ice working on door

Have you changed your filter? Make sure to change these every 6 months, I believe. Also, if your filter is new/ or within the 6 months, you may have a water valve issue. You'll need to replace the water valve, which is on the back of the unit, towards the bottom, behind the panel. You can remove the panel, its all Phillip screws.

New ice maker--was working till filter changed- no ice now ...

You may not have the filter installed correctly, or installed the correct filter.
If you rotate to lock the filter in place, make sure you rotated the filter completely to lock.
If you had to turn the water off, did you turn it back on?

Replacing filter for ice and water!

Have you tries just removing the filter and putting it back in? I have a GE and all I do open and close the filter door. to clear it. Ge has the six month timer but if you pull it up on the display it will give you a percentage of filter life.
