I'm trying to use my 720 on my Lenovo Vista laptop. After loading, uninstalling and reloading new drivers I'm able to get it to see my pc. But, it prints a great test print, and I have no error messages, but it's not printing my pages. The machine even tells me by voice and text that it's printing and when it's finished. I've check the settings and they seem in order. Any help would be great. Thanks, Fred [email protected]
Delete the printer icon and disconnect the USB cable. Restart the laptop, reconnect the USB cable to see if your laptop recognizes the printer. If so, install the printer driver. If not, probably USB cable or port issue. Hope this helps.

If you bought a new computer it probably has Windows 7 installed and the Dell 720 may not be compatible. You can try downloading the Vista drivers from Dell here. They may work with Windows 7. If not, you'll need to replace the printer with a later, Windows 7 compatible one.
What operating system are you running on your dell 1521 laptop? What drivers are supported on your Dell 720 printer?
If you are running Windows Vista on your laptop and there are only drivers for your printer up until Windows XP and nothing is on Dell's website for your printer in terms of drivers, then you can only try to run Windows Vista in Compatibility Mode.
If this doesn't work, then you'll need to get a new printer.
I am guessing that the instal disk that you used was not for VISTA? Download and instal the VISTA driver from the DELL websie for you model printer, below:
install the printer driver first (do not connect the printer yet until installation procedure asks you to connect the printer) then set it as your primary printer
The drivers below are a 32 or 64 bit machine. You can find out which your system is my click on start and right clicking on my computer and from the drop down menu select properties. It will tell which your machine has.
