Toner refill kits for hp 2840

Hello,

I have been using toner refill for my hp 2840. Everything was fine for about a month. Then only the right side of the page was printing.

After speaking with hp...they sent someone hear & said the carriage is misaligned. The tech took the printer & came back later with the problem fixed. After printing a couple of good pages...it started again printing on the right side only.
Now the hp tech says this problem is caused by refilling the cartridges & I should buy 4 new cartridges & have the carriage aligned again.
Before I go & spend the $$, I thought I would ask if anyone knows about this.

The printer is only about 6 months old & this is the first refill.

    I installed remanufactured yellow, magenta and cyan cartridges at the same time and, although i was printing black text just fine before the change, afterwards all four colors are printing on the right side only...fading to a faint print in the middle and nothing nothing left of center.....has anyone come up with anything? can this be a carousel alignment problem even though all four colors appear as they should when i rotate cartridges on the main panel? if it isn't a carousel alignment problem, what else could it possibly be? i have a service manual and the mechanical know-how to take it apart if necessary but that will be a last resort.....

I have the same problem. Happended under warentee and the HP techs have replaced about everything but the printer's shell. They fix one thing and break another, but refuse to replace the printer and we are going on 5-6 service calls.

It all started when I replaced the magenta toner. BTW the HP techs constantly lie about what they did and when they will be back.

How to reset supplies on HP 2840 laserjet?

Select 'Menu" button, then select "Reports", then select "Supplies Report".

This will print the status of the four toner cartridges and the drum.

It doesn't make sense to reset toner cartridges UNLESS you refill them
first. On the HP 2840 each cartridge/drum contains a chip that measures
the life of the unit.

You can purchase toner/chip combinations online cheaper than new
cartridges. I also purchase drum chips to extend the use of my drum
until print quality actually starts to deteriorate.

I use both of these methods to save money on supplies - buy toner and
toner chips, buy drum chip to get full use of drum unit.

Hi follow these steps..

1.Purchase a refill kit for your model of printer. It is important to purchase a refill kit designed for your specific model, since generic refill kits do not work well with HP printers. There are a number of places to buy these kits, but you must make sure you get the right kit for your printer model

2.Take the toner out of the printer and clean it carefully. Over time toner cartridges will accumulate paper dust, dried toner and other debris, and all of this must be cleaned away before the cartridge is refilled.

3.Flip the cover out of the way to expose the developer roller, then use a soft clean cloth to clean the roller. It is important to clean this roller before refilling the cartridge.

4.Make a small hole in the toner cartridge, using the instructions provided in the refill kit. It is important to follow the refill kit instructions carefully, since the toner refill process will vary from model to model.

5.Place the replacement toner in the hopper, then carefully pour it into the HP cartridge. Be careful not to spill any of the toner, and if you do spill the toner be sure to clean it up promptly. Reseal the hole you made after the cartridge has been refilled.

6.Sit the refilled HP cartridge on a clean flat surface and let it remain there for 20-30 minutes. Pick up the cartridge and make sure no toner has leaked out. If you do see any leaks you will need to reseal the hole you made again.

HP Laserjet 2840 asked for drum replacment afther only 5300 pages but should make 20000. Prits where still perfect but now it refuses to print. Any solutions how to keep using the drum?


Check online for refill instructions and where to buy the chip to replace on the drum, most of the drums today have little chips to replace that tell the printer when they are used up, even when there's still life in them.

romve the toner and right side scriw and left side scrue the remove in toner and remove the drum ......

Hello, these printers tend to be finicky.

In other words, just replace the black toner. When the printer says its low, or empty, regardless of wether or not it is, just replace it.

Replacing the drum, when it says black toner needs to be replaced will do nothing to rectify the issue.

Buy only HP Toner and Drum cartridges for this printer. Do not try to refill toner cartridges, and do not reset drum. You will only end up destroying your printer in the process.

It may be that the cartridges are the problem? Usual fix is to go back to before the problem and start again. If you don't have old good cartridges, you may have to get new cartridges.

Refill problems pages are stained


Original refills are best rather than using refill kits, but are expensive and produces clean results... Well, that's the way it is, I too got refills and I expected it to have unwanted results.

Use it until emptied and buy original refills to get best results.
Let this be a lesson us... After all, it's a part of learning via our mistakes.
