On your scanner program in your computer there should be calibration setting that will reset your scanner properly

Neat receipt scans a black line through part of the page

That's all I got was a black strip. My solution was to get a new Neat Receipts mobile scanner. It works great and I didn't have to make any software changes. It was worth the price for a new one compared to all the hassles I had with the old one.

My canon lide 700f will not calibrate to scan a 35mm film

For those having the "Executes calibration. Pull out the film and place the Film Adapter Unit at Frame 1." issue and cannot calibrate the scanner for NEGATIVE FILM, it took me ages to figure out how to solve it.
Solution: calibrate the frame, WITHOUT any film, adapter plug and placed in frame 1, and proceed to do the calibration WITH THE SCANNER COVER OPEN.
Before I tried everyhing, install new drivers for Windows 8.1, MP Navigator, and nothing happen. Now it works like the first day. Hope it helps! it certainly helped me.

Scanner Error

Some electronic equipment such as printers and scanners need to be "calibrated".

I recommend you follow the directions and allow the Scanner to calibrate. This may result in better scans and for printers, better printouts.

I280 won't scan!

ImageCalibration means the cameras don't get enough light during their self test.
Please check the following points:
Are both lamps on or one lamp in case you have a single page scanner?
Are the imaging guides (the clear sheets above the cameras) clean?
Are the little white tags on the imaging guides present?
One tag on each imaging guide.
Without this small white tags the cameras are not able to check themself.
For emergency you can apply a small white paper or white insulating tape instead of missing tags to test the scanner.

If the lamps are light, both tags are present please calibrate the scanner with the kodak calibration sheets. You will find the calibration menue in the scanner validation tool. You can get this tool from the Kodak home page.

Calibrating Scanner

I had the same problem but have solved it. What i think you might be doing wrong, is that you have the scan material the wrong way round. The womens face should be on the right side of the scanner with the colour input target centered against the ruler. Once i did this it worked first time
