The cl3500 is a laser printer and as such doesnt have a head per se.
you can remove the dev units and the k and cmyk pcu's and the image belt and using a flash light and a lint free cloth shine the light upwards and clean the led array, but typically if you have quality issues it will be either or all of the consumables which can be purchased from ricoh direct or from

What is causing my Ricoh CL3500N to allow vertical streaks of faded color on my copies?

This is usually caused by defective, or empty, toner cartridges. A good cleaning and replacing the old waste toner drum as will as the defective cartridge with a certified manufacturer's cartridge usually fixes the problem.

Ricoh Aficio CL3500N I get gear marks printing on the left edge of every sheet with a 1/4 in. half circle after 33 marks, like below.... could this be toner leaking? Is there a way to clean it? \ \ \ ...

Either the drum unit is marred or some toner has migrated to where it shouldn't be, possibly onto the fuser roller. A thorough cleaning might be in order.

Ricoh Aficio CL3500N printer phantom misfeed

It seems that the sensor is having dust or toner settled upon it. Kindly remove the toner and clean the residual toner. Take a hard stock paper and give one copy command and push it while it tries to pull the paper. Paper misfeed is not the same as paper jam. Paper misfeed refers to the blank paper tray and paper jam refers to paper which has been taken from the tray and now inside the unit.

Never clean or touch the Transfer Roller (spongey rooler) unless your using a dry cloth or vaccum as last measure.

Usually the transfer roller sits on a drum/pcu specific to that color. If you can tell which color is sitting on to of the roller replace that drum/pcu.

Ricoh Aficio CL3500N PCU issues

These machines were actually made by Panasonic and they eat PCU's there is no rhyme or reason, they just do. I would replace all of them as soon as possible. These printers were pretty much interim technology for Ricoh until they developed thier own engine. I highly recommend the new 400 color series, low cost per page, vg color and consumables last a long time!
