Does the two plugs fit together? Wiring color will not match as aftermarket speaker wire use light grey, dark grey, green, and purple where factory wire uses blue, green, dark blue, and tan
Because I worked at home depot, ace hardware and selling furniture. I would use a STAINABLE wood filler if it was stained. Then use BACK POLYSHADES! If it was painted, then just ordinary wood filler will be fine. Be sure to have the paint match in color and in sheen! Usually the leg can be taken off just by turning it to the left. Good luck.
If your using component input, then yes you do. Make sure all colors Red, Grn and Blue match from the Player to the Component Input. They all have 3 color codes.
Projection TV sets need to have all three colors - RED - BLUE - GREEN - lined up correctly on the screen in order for the video to look normal. When its out of alignment the video will look 3D, wavy, distorted, etc. Most of the time you just need to adjust your convergence in the TV menu. If you cannot adjust it in the menu - then your convergence is broken and needs to be repaired. This is a very common failure on these projection sets and a fairly simple DIY fix. All projection sets including Samsung, RCA, Sony, Philip Magnavox, Panasonic, Pioneer, Akai, GE, JVC, Toshiba, and others at some point will have the same problem. the RJ45 wallplate is not meant for ethernet. It's an 8P8C connector for a phone. Will it work as a network jack? Maybe. I wouldn't use it, but if you really want to try, wire it thusly:
1 Blue --- Orange/White 2 Orange --- Orange 3 Black --- Green/White 4 Red --- Blue 5 Green --- Blue/White 6 Yellow --- Green 7 Brown --- Brown/White 8 White --- Brown
I'd still recommend a CAT5 wallplate with a CAT5 jack.
My TVs are all old enough that they don't even have the adjustments you've tried. But one thing to look for. CRT televisions are vulnerable to magnets. Do you have any large speakers nearby? Magnets screw up CRT colours.
