Question about Sony VAIO PCV-W600G PC Desktop

1 Answer

Recovery disk Sony no longer makes the recovery disks for my computer and without them i am unable to fix my computer which was hit with a virus. Do you know where to get one? If anyone is reading this and would be willing to make one off their own computer for me, I would pay them. It is real simple to do and I would encourage anyone who owns this model computer to make one ASAP because if a virus corrupts your built in recovery partition then you will be stuck.

Well, I finally got a replacement keyboard and a repair manual.

I installed the new keyboard, but now windows will not boot, which is better than with the old (damaged) keyboard... all I got was the BLUE SCREEN OF DEATH!

The keyboard is functioning, so I am headed in the right direction.

Problem is I cannot access the bios for some reason. I have tried to start windows in all modes, but to no avail.

I have a bootleg version of Windows that I received from someone.

I was thinking of booting the bootleg version of windows, just to get the computer started then use the system recovery partition to recover my authentic OS and all applications.

    My question is...

Which partition is the recovery on? Also, if I install the bootleg OS will it overwrite the partition with the system recovery on it?

When I turn my netbook on it starts but goes straight to black screen and nothing happens, I went to safe mode but whenever I press Entre it reboots and goes to black screen again, I have no cd-rom ... so...

It appears that the computer is infected with virus and may need full system recovery. You can restore the computer back to factory default,to do so, follow the below steps: Turn OFF the computer, now as soon as you hit the power button, keep on holding "Alt" key
& keep on tapping "F10" key, i.e Alt+f10, it will open the recovery console, select full factory restore and follow onscreen instruction. NOTE: This will erase all the datas on
the computer.

You can also create a set to Recovery disk from the recovery partition, to do so
Start Menu> All Programs> Acer erecovery management> Click Create Factory Default Disk, if you receive any error code or unable to burn the disk, please contact Acer Technical
support at 1 800 816 2237 and order for an Recovery Disk.

Thanks and regards,

I'm facing major problem of active desktop recovery. Also I'm unable to restore my active desktop.

If all fails, then the last resort would be Reformat Your Computer. Save Everything. When you do a Reformat, all data is lost.
I found this on the web. You can click on the link to see it more in view.

Reformatting a computer will reset it to the factor image, all data must be backed up or it WILL be lost. There are several reasons to reformat a hard drive. A few reasons include but are not limited to: driver issues, virus, cleaning up, getting rid of the computer, etc.

Step 2 Recovery Disk Creator
Every new windows vista owner should know that the new computers are not supplied with recovery disks anymore. The manufacturer allows the user to create one set of disks upon the purchase of a new machine. It is important to create the disks early as driver issues and viruses may arise. In order to create recovery disks on windows vista you want to click on the start menu. Next, type in recovery in the Start Search option area. Next, click on recovery disk creation and follow the process. It will require that you have about 3 dvds or about 7 cds to create the recovery disks.

Once the recovery disks have been made reformatting windows vista is quite simple. Insert the recovery disks into the cd/dvd tray on the machine. You are now going to want to turn the computer off. When the computer has turned off, go ahead and turn it back on. A screen should pop up asking you whether you want to boot from Hard Drive or Disk. Choose the disk option. After you make it this far it is a downhill process. Next you follow the on-screen instruction make sure you reformat the machine, not recover it.

Good Luck :0)

Disk read error

If you receive this error in start up and your computer doesn't load windows. It was unable to read the disk.

Please use your recovery discs (or windows installation cd/dbd) to restore the computer. If the recovery discs don't solve the problem and you still receive the same error, the hard drive is possibly damaged. I would suggest to take the laptop to a professional for testing and fixing.

Thanks and good luck.

Windows xp backup discs for sony VGN-FE770G notebook

call sony and tell them to send you *their* disks. they have them, and may charge you a small fee for the cd's and shipping. HP had a similar problem, but cd-s through snail mail should fix the problem.
