I have a Kenmore washer #110 92380200 that will no longer spin or

Drain. while the motor is still running. I see that one problem is a broken drive motor coupler. I have removed the three bolts at the bottom of the tub, but am unable to separate the parts from the tub, in order to replace parts. Can someone help? Thanks

I have a Kenmore top loading large capacity washer model 1028882791. It began washing as usual then began to making a loud humming sound. The agitation stopped. It only makes a loud humming sound. I...

The humming sound is coming from the drive motor running but unable to drive the agitator nor the basket to spin. The drive motor is definitely running as the drain function works because of the fact that drain pump is directly coupled with the rear spline of the motor. The drain pump works in either direction as long as the motor runs. The problem is obviously a broken motor coupler which transfers the mechanical energy of the motor to the transmission. The solution then is to replace the broken coupler. Click on the link below for the detailed step-by-step procedure in replacing the motor coupler.

When I drop the lid, the motor starts to make noise, yet the agitator won't agitate and I believe the spin cycle will not spin( Kenmore Type 111 top load)

If the washer does not agitate or spin, but will still drain, a likely cause is a broken motor coupling. Another common symptom is being able to hear the motor running, or a loud rattling sound, as the drive motor engages, but the tub no longer spins.

Whirlpool uses a motor coupling in the place of a drive belt. It is located between the drive motor and and gearcase (transmission). This configuration is known as a "direct-drive" system. It is common for the coupler to wear out with age and break. Newer versions of this coupler are more resilient and resist breakage. The following link explains how to access and/or replace one:

The part number for the improved motor coupling is included in the link I provided. The average cost is about $10-$15. you can purchase a replacement at any of the following websites:
