Clarion vx603au will not pick up satellite after I changer the car battery can you help updated the unit but still not working

Otherwise, the source unit will not “recognize” that a CD changer or Sirius satellite receiver has been added.

I would say to take it back regardless of what the problem is. I would say the unit is bad. Does the remote work the other functions? if it does not then the remote could be bad, if the remote does work the other functions, I would think the unit is bad.

i have just got the same cd changer from a mate, it had a FMC200 controler, i think the fmc200 module plugs into a head units ariel slot and the cd changer, transmits a radio frequency which your head unit picks up.... not to sure as i have just got the unit with all the paper work and manuals

Provided that you're using the same cable you used for the last changer, it sounds like the new changer is defective.

Bloody snap! I also have a 406. The button on the head unit is supossed to turn on player.My original unit wore out.I got a second hand unit which is also not recognized by the head unit. At the moment I dont know why,but Im not a man to give up easily and will give you the solution when I have it. I know it was working originally and it looks like the secondhand unit is faulty. First thing to suspect would be the antenna cable or antenna. Check it is connected properly to the back of the unit, and check the cable all the way along to the antenna - these are prone to internal corrosion when they get a bit old. Easiest way to check is to get a new antenna and cable (they are cheap) and plug it in directly to the back of the unit. Check the ground connection of the unit is good - any terminals might need a clean up - disconnect the battery first.
