Question about Logitech Webcam

Mike not working

My daughter and I both have Logitech webcams. Everything was working great and now all of a sudden, she can hear us just fine but we can't hear her. It shows that the mike is on. Is the problem on her end or on our end? What can we do?

Re: Mike not working

She needs to check her Audio settings. Send her the following info.

Normal 0 Web Camera’s have to be setup on the program they are to be used with. Just installing the camera on your computer does not set it up to broadcast on messengers or Skype.

Each program has Options that have to be setup in order for the Audio and Video to function properly.

A. Skype Setup:

After downloading and installing Skype set it up as follows:

  1. Go to TOOLS, then OPTIONS, and click on Audio Settings and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  2. Then click on the Video Settings.
  3. The camera if installed properly will come up and show a picture.
  4. Then on the bottom of the page click on Save.

The camera and audio should function properly. Your friends and Family will now see and talk to you.

B. Yahoo Setup:

After downloading and installing Yahoo Messenger set it up as follows:

  1. Go to Messenger at the top left and click on it.
  2. Next go down to Preferences and click on it.
  3. Next Calling and Devices on the right and set the Microphone and Speakers to the computer Audio Card.
  4. Next go to the Test Audio section and (in blue writing) click on “Open the call setup assistant” and follow the instructions on the left window.

C. Windows Live Messenger:

  1. After you start Windows Live Messenger, expand the view by clicking on the square on top left next to the red X.
  2. Then on the Windows Live messenger window on the right side, click on “ “Show Menus.” And then click on “Show the Menu Bar”.
  3. Next go to the Menu Bar on right side, click on “ “Action.”
  4. Go to “TOOLS” and click “Audio and Video Setting” and follow the instructions.
NOTE: You audio and video should work. Enjoy.

When done both the Audio and Video will function properly so you can chat and see family or friends you are connected to.
Hope this helps. Bud

My daughter is using logitech and my son is using skype. After visiting with my daughter on logitech, my son can't see or hear me on his computer, but we can see and hear him. If I go back to logitech and...

You should be able to go from one program to another but you will need to reboot the webcam software as its not unusual for webcam software to remain hooked up to a previous program even if you exit from it correctly
If the webcam is plugged into the USB just unplug it - when its not running - and wait a couple of seconds before plugging it back in
If it's a built in webcam - you will have to restart your computer or navigate to Device Manager - open the Imaging folder -right click on the webcam text and disable and the enable the webcam after a couple of seconds

Using Skype with my Logitech QuickCam Pro 9000

The advantage of having a logitech webcam is the support you have.
I just launched my logitech toolbar and clicked on the lowest panel to see what help you have with your webcam in Skype - check this out**&p_li=&p_topview=1

Also there is a good logitech forum from other users as logitech tends to have teflon shoulders when it comes to chat programs

My daughter in USA can see and hear me on Skype/Logitech webcam and I can hear her (in Ireland) but the picture is quite distorted. When we linked up initially the picture was fine and now for no apparent...

Check if the video capture filter settings have changed,
Also try and adjust zoom lens to get the perfect clarity at her place.

Hope this solves the problem

My Logitech miccrophone is not on my list of choices.

Try installing,en?osid=13

If it doesn't appear after that, right-click the Speaker icon in the tray, choose Recording Devices. Does it appear in there. If so, make it default.
