The cc has been enabled on your cable box. Usually there is a hidden menu accessed by turning off the cable box. Yes I did say turning off the cable box first. Then immediately pressing the menu button on the front of the cable box. The hidden menu should pop up and one of the menu options will be closed captioning,. Disable it.
It's in the "Tools" menu. Use the Sony remote, press "Tools", toggle down to Closed Caption CC and press enter. Highlight "off" and then enter. Your done, it's off. Hope this helps
there is no closed captions on dvds, you can use subtitles, very similar to closed captions. just load dvd
look into either extra features or subtitles
it would say "english for deaf/hard of hearing." or just plain english subtitle. either way, it works.
Access the TV's menu by pressing the "menu" button on the remote. Look for "Captioning" or if not on the screen try "set-up" or "audio" all the while looking for "CC", "Caption" or "Closed Caption". When you find it, turn it off.
