When attached to my PC via USB, my Sony A729 will not connect, it only charges. Anyone had a similar experience and knows a fix?

Hey, Try uninstalling the device driver while plugged in. Then re-attach there device.
To uninstall the driver, Right click on My Computer->Properties->Device Manager.
Find your device and uninstall the driver.

Gogear sa5125/37 lost softwear got from site still dont work

Download the user's manual also from the website - it will let you know what to do next. I have written an article that you can see in the "Tips & Tricks" section on how to download songs to your Mp3 player using Windows Media Player 11.  Make sure you get the firmware update before using Windows Media Player 11, however: Philips issued a firmware upgrade for this model to correct the freezing issue.  You can't use the version of the Philips Device Manager that came on the installation CD.  You have to go to, enter your country, enter your model #, click on SA 6045/37 without the B, and click on the Software & Drivers link.  Within the software & drivers link, you must download the link underneath "Device/Firmware Manager" - this will give you the latest version of the Device Manager.  Using the new Device Manager, connect your mp3 player to the computer and click on the "Update" button within the Philips Device Manager.  This will upgrade your player's firmware, and fix the freezing issue.

A problem with my philips gogear...

The Device Manager came with the installation CD. If you lost the installation CD, you can get the Device Manager by going to and entering in your model #, and going to "software & drivers"

If Device Manager is already installed, you can find it by going to Start --> All programs --> Philips Digital Audio Player --> Philips Device Manager

Philips gogear 8gb says "please connect to PC"

You need to open the Philips device Manager - came with the installation CD,and run a "Repair" first, and then an "Upgrade" - the device manager is available from the Philips website if you have lost the CD or were unable to load

My philips mp3 is showing updating player and I can't get out of it, even after I have reset it.

There is a program that came with the installation Cd called Philips Device Manager. You can download it from if you lost the CD. Use the Philips Device Manager to repair the player. If the device manager will not repair the player, then try this: disconnect the player from the computer, turn it off, hold in the volume + button, and reconnect the player to the computer while holding the volume + button in. Keep holding the volume + button for an additional 5-50 seconds. Windows should eventually go into recovery mode and revive the player- it will pop up a window that says Found New Hardware Wizard.

E280 will not charge

has anyone managed to find a solution to this problem? everytime i connect my sansa to the computer via the power cable or i try charging it using a wall charger, the battery bar doesn't move and neither does the computer recognise the device. i seriously don't know what to do with the mp3 player anymore. i tried restarting it or doing the whole recovery mode thing but both methods were unsuccessful. i spoke to one of the sansa team online and they said that the player is "data corrupted" and that i should purchase a new one. ive been using sansa player for over 2 years now and ive never had this problem before. anyone could suggest anything?
