Maximum capacity for nikon D50 is 2gb, try use lower capacity, if error still appears, bring it to your local service center, possibility of hardware problem

The camera is really outdated. I think that you just need an upgrade. Look at D5600 for example which is much better and costs not that much. Here is a Nikon D5600 lenses buying guide which also may be useful. I understand that you don't really want to waste money while you have a good camera already but it's like using an iPhone 3 in 2019.

SOURCE: "this memory card cannot be used" message appears

Get a card reader and download the pics to a computer. When they are safe, format the card in the camera to get it to work properly again.

SOURCE: nikon d3100 showing no sd card inserted message even after inserting it..please help

The only thing I can think of remove the SD Card, start camera, and go into the menu, check to make sure there are no pictures on the internal memory, if there are! erase them and restart camera and power off, re-install card and hopefully you are good to go. If no change! have the camera shop run a quick check.

What does it mean "memory card is write protected?"

Look at your memory card. SD cards have a slide switch along one edge. The position farthest from the metal contacts locks the card, protecting it from writes. The position nearest the contacts unlocks the card.

Out of memory

Check your SD card, many have a write protect setting, if the slider has been moved them camera will see the card as full. If that is not the solution try your spare SD card (you have a spare, right?). If there is no joy with both cards then the card reader in the camera is having issues.

Nikon error code R19

R19 is NOT an error code. The "R<number>" is the number of pictures that may be taken (and stored on the camera's built-in, non-removable, high speed memory) before the camera must move the images to the removable memory card.

If you take a number of pictures in rapid succession, the R19 will decrease to R18, R17, R16 etc. If you shoot all the way to R1, you won't be able to shoot again until the camera is allowed to move the images to the removable memory card. If you don't take pictures in rapid fire mode - the R19 will probably not change as the camera is transferring between your shots.

I hope this was very helpful.

Will not accept a SD Card now.

first are you still under warranty, if you are don t tell nikon it was dropped they may not cover it if it was dropped. Tell them it stopped reading cards all of a sudden. See if they can fix. If warranty is up may need to get it repaired yourself.i had similar problem with other name brand camera. i didnt fix though was inexpensive camera. I know nikons are high in price so you may want to get fixed.

Error message on Nikon D40X camera

Yes, This happens to me if I change the file in any way, but don't take it off of my SD card. .So if you crop it or rotate it or anything, it's changed the file and won't be able to read it the same way. If you just "move" the file (on your computer) to a file, it won't be there any more. Hope that helps...
