F9 Display in Model MGR5770ADB Gas cooking range

I have a Maytag Model MGR5770ADB Gas cooking range purchased in Sept 2000. After a manual clean up, we find that the owen light is still on after closing the door and a fault display F9 comes on in the display. Apparently, the light switch doesn't get depressed when the door is closed and I'm not too sure, whether the F9 display has anything to do with this problem..

Any help in this regard will be greatly appreciated..

Re: F9 Display in Model MGR5770ADB Gas cooking range

F-9 means you either have a bad door latch hinse the light staying on, or the ERC which is the oven control has a stuck relay and youd have to replace the ERC to fix it.

My sister has a Maytag Advanced cooking system - MGR 5880 BDS - they used the self clean last night and now today the door will not come unlocked and a error F9 is showing on the display. How can they fix...

The F9 code indicates that you have a problem with the door lock circuit in this type of range. It is possible that you have a wiring failure in the door lock circuit. I recommend that you unplug the range and check the wiring connections on the door lock switches. I provided a wiring diagram in the image below. If you find no wiring problems, then you could normally try to fix this problem by replacing the door lock assembly.

Hi stuartwri190,

Kindly check the door latch components. The F9 fault code is about the door latch.

Hope it helps.
