Usually you should have a button on top of webcam. Pressing it, will make pictures. Save the pictures in folder and you can send via email

If you don't have the button, you must open the application provided with the webcam. (e. g. Start - programs - your webcam name). In that application you must have option Capture. Clicking on it, it will make pictures.

You can use the mail (Yahoo, Hotmail, Gmail) attaching the picture

Unable to transmit my image

You really aren't telling us a lot of information. If you can get a picture onto the notebook then it's got to be stored somewhere. Try taking the picture, then saving it. Now you can use e-mail to send the picture as an attachment.

Web cam

if by "do a video" you mean you have captured a video with the web cam it should have been saved in a file with extension .avi, .mov, or other depending on webcam - you need to attach the file to your email.

so when capturing your video you have to watch to see where the file is saved (possilby in My Videos if Windows XP or Videos if Vista).

I have an Encore Web Camera , I know how to mak ea video but I just can't seem to get it to a size where its small enough to attach via email. I figure its maye something in the settings or the frame...

Email systems won't accept large attachments, and video files are huge. The way I send video email is on mailVU.com. It is a free site and it allows me to record for up to 10 minutes and email to anyone. It streams from the Internet and there are no attachments.

E mailed pictures arrive too large

reduce resolution on camera itself or choose a smaller resolution when sending pics via Email. Not all Email programs support this. You can also resize your pics before sending by using "XP powertoys" free from microsoft and includes a resizing tool. 640X480 is plenty big for Email.

Emailing videos/movies

you should have a photo editting program on your computer.  Windows comes with 'Paint' that will work nicely.  You need to RESIZE the pictures before sending them via e-mail.

Open the photo program, find 'resize' option, then 'save as' a new file name.

It's poor etiquette to send HUGE pics as attachments. Your friends will appreciate a nice size photo that fits the monitor.

Could use some help

Hi, Try this trick to get around Microsofts silly habits. [We all have come across them somewhere] Open "my documents" create a new file, name it to suit your video, plug your camera/player in and run the video into the created file. Then simply send the file as an attachment in an email. Ensure you tell the person you send it to exactly which program you used, so when they open it window's does not get confused. This can be done from MS PowerPoint/ MS Office and several others. Goodluck. mistyman
