Question about AudioBahn A2300HCT Car Audio Amplifier

Audiobahn A3200E Yellow light

I have a Audiobahn A3200E that was working fine until this past thanksgiving. I got in my truck and it just wasn't playing. The green light is still on but now the yellow light is on also. I have a red protection light that is not lite up. I don't know what the yellow light means but it has the letters THER above it. I need to know what the yellow light means and what could be causing it to turn on. I have sent this question to audionbahn with no answer. This is an old amp that was working very well until now.

Thanks for the help. I got an email back from Audiobahn that told me they think it has burn up something inside. Since they have not made this amp in years its going to be hard to find the replacment parts.

THER likely means it thinks it's overheating (thermal protection). This is not a common failure.

Sometimes, low voltage can cause strange problems so you need to check the voltage on the B+ and remote terminals. Place the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amplifier when checking the voltage. The voltage should remain above 11 volts. If it's below 11 volts on either the remote of B+ terminals, you need to trace down the problem. If the voltage remains above 11 volts, the amp probably has an internal fault and will have to be repaired.

Most amplifiers use generic semiconductors and can be easily repaired. Amps that are 30+ years old can generally be repaired. Take it to a local repair shop that repairs car audio amplifiers. They should be able to repair it.

The amp is gone. if you have checked and double checked and it is hooked up fine. then the amp is toast. Contact the manufacturer to get a replacement if its under warranty.

Audiobahn A2301Q amp, charred RCA wires

If the amp goes into protect with the wires unplugged from the board, the amp likely has more serious problems. It may have a shorted power transformer and almost certainly has shorted output transistors. If you think you may want to try to repair it yourself, read through the following page (particularly the information in the yellow box). Respond to this post if you have more questions.

    Audiobahn AVM270Q (white out)

You have to check if Video cable from Flip Down Monitor has RCA Plug Cable or Super VHS Plug Cable.

RCA Plug is Yellow for Video= connected to Yellow Input of radio maybe loose.

Get VCR or Video Camera and connect Video Output with cable to Yellow RCA Plug of Flip Down Monitor.

Turn car on and VCR/Video Camera: you should get video to FL Monitor.

If not, then FLM is defective or has adjustment problems..
