Question about AudioBahn A2300HCT Car Audio Amplifier
I have a Audiobahn A3200E that was working fine until this past thanksgiving. I got in my truck and it just wasn't playing. The green light is still on but now the yellow light is on also. I have a red protection light that is not lite up. I don't know what the yellow light means but it has the letters THER above it. I need to know what the yellow light means and what could be causing it to turn on. I have sent this question to audionbahn with no answer. This is an old amp that was working very well until now.
THER likely means it thinks it's overheating (thermal protection). This is not a common failure.
Sometimes, low voltage can cause strange problems so you need to check the voltage on the B+ and remote terminals. Place the black meter lead on the ground terminal of the amplifier when checking the voltage. The voltage should remain above 11 volts. If it's below 11 volts on either the remote of B+ terminals, you need to trace down the problem. If the voltage remains above 11 volts, the amp probably has an internal fault and will have to be repaired.
