SOURCE: Symbol P470 Enter key for field enter

This would be done with 123Scan. You would write an ADF rule with Keypad as the Code Type and then fill in the String and Starting at postion fields for your criteria. Action 1 would be Send Value, then select 7013 from the keycode box and click the green check mark.

I use an "A" so the user has to press the yellow Mode button and the 7 key to make the A. Then when they press the red Enter button an enter key is sent to the host.

If you are not familiar with 123Scan I would suggest contacting the Motorola helpdesk for further assistance. 800-653-5350

How do I manually/automatically update the channels on my Samsung DNli DV3 TV?

Hi Hugh.

Please follow these instructions to manually/automatically update the digital (DTV) channels on the Samsung LE26R73BD.

Please use the following buttons on your Samsung remote control to navigate the on-screen menus:

- "D.MENU" - Opens/closes the on-screen menu (below the numerical key "0")
- DIRECTIONAL ARROW KEYS - To navigate up/down/left right through the on-screen menus
- "ENTER/OK" - Selects/confirms a selected option (in the centre of the arrows)

Automatic Channel Scan / Update:

1. Make sure you are in digital TV mode - Press the "TV/DTV" button on the remote to switch between analogue (ATV) and digital (DTV) modes.
2. Press the "D.MENU" key
3. Highlight "Installation" (first option) and press "OK/ENTER"
4. If asked for a PIN code, enter 0 0 0 0 using the numerical keys on the remote. If you have set a different PIN code, please enter your own code here.
5. Highlight "Select County" and press "OK/ENTER"
6. Use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to select "UK" then press "OK/ENTER"
7. Highlight "Auto Scanning" and press "ENTER/OK"
8. Highlight "Scan Mode" and use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to set the value to "Digital"
9. Highlight "Start Frequency" and use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to set the value to "CH 21 . . ."
10. Highlight "End Frequency" and use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to set the value to "CH 69 . . ."
11. Highlight "Start Frequency" again and then press "OK/ENTER" to start the channel scan.

Some of the options above will already be selected so will not need to be changed. I've provided the correct settings just in case they are incorrectly set. Note: UK Freeview stations are on channels 21 to 69 inclusive.

The scan will take a few minutes to complete and the progress will be displayed. When the channel scan is complete, the menu should close automatically and the TV will return to viewing mode. If not, press either the "D.MENU" or "EXIT" button to return to watching TV.

Manual Channel Scan / Update:

7. Highlight "Manual Scanning" and press "ENTER/OK"
8. Highlight "Scan Mode" and use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to set the value to "Digital"
9. Highlight "Channel Number" and use the LEFT/RIGHT arrows to choose which channel number you wish to scan . . .

UK Freeview stations are on channels 21 to 69 inclusive. In manual tuning mode, these need to be scanned one at a time. Please note, many of these channels are "empty". UK Freeview only uses 5 of these channels (called Multiplexes or MUX) or 6 if you have HD. I am unable to tell you which 5 channels these are as they vary according to whichever transmitter or repeater station your aerial is aligned to.

10. Press "OK/ENTER" to start the channel scan.
11. Repeat steps 9 and 10 for each additonal channel you wish to scan.

Please note: Manual scanning can cause some unexpected results - particularly if your aerial has a reception from more than one transmitter/repeater. For this reason it is better to use the automatical scan unless you have a specific reason for needing to scan manually.

Hopefully this will be all you need to update the digital channels on your TV. If you have any questions or need further assistance, please let me know.

Regards,
BElectric

Symbol P470 Enter key for field enter

Hi,

Go to this page and follow the instructions in item #2. It will force the scanner to insert and "Enter" after every code is scanned. We use this option with most point of sale terminals and some inventory control programs to speed things up.

You will need to have you manual handy or download a copy from symbol to set the programming and you will have to print the 2 pages reffered to as you can't scan a screen... yet

Validation code using single loop for multiple fields in javascript

As example, use it:

JavaScript Form ValidationJavaScript can be used to validate input data in HTML forms before sending off the content to a server.
Form data that typically are checked by a JavaScript could be:
  • has the user left required fields empty?
  • has the user entered a valid e-mail address?
  • has the user entered a valid date?
  • has the user entered text in a numeric field?
Required FieldsThe function below checks if a required field has been left empty. If the required field is blank, an alert box alerts a message and the function returns false. If a value is entered, the function returns true (means that data is OK):
function validate_required(field,alerttxt)
{
with (field)
{
if (value==null||value=="")
{
alert(alerttxt);return false;
}
else
{
return true;
}
}
}The entire script, with the HTML form could look something like this:
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function validate_required(field,alerttxt)
{
with (field)
{
if (value==null||value=="")
{alert(alerttxt);return false;}
else {return true}
}
}function validate_form(thisform)
{
with (thisform)
{
if (validate_required(email,"Email must be filled out!")==false)
{email.focus();return false;}
}
}
</script>
</head><body>
<form action="submitpage.htm"
onsubmit="return validate_form(this)"
method="post">
Email: <input type="text" name="email" size="30">
<input type="submit" value="Submit">
</form>
</body></html>
E-mail ValidationThe function below checks if the content has the general syntax of an email.
This means that the input data must contain at least an @ sign and a dot (.). Also, the @ must not be the first character of the email address, and the last dot must at least be one character after the @ sign:
function validate_email(field,alerttxt)
{
with (field)
{
apos=value.indexOf("@");
dotpos=value.lastIndexOf(".");
if (apos<1||dotpos-apos<2)
{alert(alerttxt);return false;}
else {return true;}
}
}The entire script, with the HTML form could look something like this:
<html>
<head>
<script type="text/javascript">
function validate_email(field,alerttxt)
{
with (field)
{
apos=value.indexOf("@");
dotpos=value.lastIndexOf(".");
if (apos<1||dotpos-apos<2)
{alert(alerttxt);return false;}
else {return true;}
}
}function validate_form(thisform)
{
with (thisform)
{
if (validate_email(email,"Not a valid e-mail address!")==false)
{email.focus();return false;}
}
}
</script>
</head><body>
<form action="submitpage.htm"
onsubmit="return validate_form(this);"
method="post">
Email: <input type="text" name="email" size="30">
<input type="submit" value="Submit">
</form>

Need my p470 symbol scanner to auto enter

It depends on whether you are using a keyboard wedge or a serial connection. Use 123Scan or MCL to make a change to the ADF file that tells the scanner what to do. Then you will have to upload the file to the scanner.

Appending an "Enter" to a scanned bar code
(Keyboard Wedge connection)
Scanned bar code data 04843100Criteria 1 Code type = Any
Criteria 2 Code Length = Any Length
Action 1 Send all that remains Action 2 Send Value Keycode = 7013 <Enter> (String field must be empty)
Output after ADF rule 04843100<Enter>
Note: To have an ADF rule applied to all scanned bar codes, leave the criteria unspecified (Code Type = Any and Code Length = Any Length).

Appending a "Carriage Return Line Feed" to a scanned bar code
(serial connection)
Scanned bar code data 04843100
Criteria 1 Code type = Any
Criteria 2 Code Length = Any Length
Action 1 Send all that remains
Action 2 Send Value String = \0D\0A

Note: Keycode value is ignored when string field is populated.

Output after ADF rule 04843100<Carriage Return Line Feed>

Xerox 7328, error 018-543 Shared name error in server

Prerequisites:
  • The printer must be connected to the network.
  • The IP address of the printer is required.
  • The HTTP option must be enabled on the printer. To obtain the IP address or to confirm if the HTTP option is enabled, print a Configuration Report. See the Related Items below for additional information.
  • A user account for the scanner must be created (account needs full control access rights).
  • A directory to be used as a repository for the scanned files must be created. The directory must then be shared.
  • The Hostname of the workstation must be known.
Scan to File is set up in several steps:
  1. The first step is to make sure the scanning service is enabled on the printer.
  2. The second step is to set up the scan file repository.
  3. The third step is to create any necessary templates.
  4. The final step is to configure the template with the required settings.
NOTE: This solution assumes Microsoft Internet Explorer is being used as the web browser. Other web browsers may vary.
  1. Make sure the SMB port is enabled. Print a Configuration Report to verify this setting. See the Related Items below.
