The computer turns on but there is nothing coming on the screen, its not the video card because i just bought a new one to put in

  • chamnou08 Aug 05, 2009

well the computer is my friends, the video card that is in there looks pretty new and its not the video card because i just bought a brand new one today to try but it doesn't work either. I pulled out the RAM and turned it on and there is no beeps, isn't there supposed to be??

How long ago did you put the video card in?? Electronics are notorious for going bad really quick. This is why they are so quick to warranty them if need be. Do you have another video card that you can swap back into it just to see if it is in fact not the video card?

A thought: The IntelliStation Z Pro 6221 comes equipped with either a Matrox or an nVidia graphics card. If your machine has the Matrox card, IBM reports a known issue which is exactly as you described and can be remidied by installing the 'lastest' Matrox driver from IBM (v. 5.75.02)

Hi..

Besure that the video card you inserted are correctly inserted you need to check it first. You need also to installed the vieo card driver. If the sam things occurs you need to disassemble the unit . Try to remove the proccessor and clean it after that insert it again. Check all the power cord and cable wire if it is correctly install in their respective port.

Thanks for using fixya..

My Acer aspire ax1700 PC dsektop wont work and here are the steps I took: First one day it wouldn't power up - The power led would blink once the fan (power supply) would come on for a split second and...

Hi, I had the same inital problem as you, except I didn't put a new video card as I was please with the Onboard card performance that even has an HDMI port. Not sure if your problem is solved already, but in my working process, I first suspected the Power Supply, and I had everything out of the case but the Mother Board. When I tried to fire it up I was always getting "No signal" on the screen, not even a blink from the BIOS. I then put everything back in place, then after the HD started spinning of and Windows booting, the screen started coming on. I felt it was like if I needed Windows to have a clean booth to replace the video drivers and switch to the InBoard card. Hoping this of any help.

I bought Foxconn 755A01-6EKRS Motherboard for my HP pc replacement. i install my AGP VsionTek x1300 graphic card and turn it on and nothing show up on screen...then i put the graphic card back to my old HP...

Your new Foxconn motherboard Primary Graphics Adapter settings in set to onboard vga that is why there is no display in your monitor. Do not install yet your agp video card. Use first the onboard vga of the motherboard.
Power up your computer and go to the BIOS settings. Locate in bios about the Primary Graphics Adapter settings and then select AGP. Save changes and the exit. Turn off your computer and now install the agp video card.

Monitor screen turns off new monitor new video card had problem

If you've replaced the monitor with a new one, it's probably not a monitor problem. Try uninstalling the video card and use the motherboard's on-board video. If that's not working, check into getting a new motherboard. If it works fine, check the settings on your video card.

I can't get monitor to come on even though the power light is on

Since it's a new card and you know it's working, install it last. Take it out for now and use the integrated video. Start the computer, enter the BIOS setup and disable the integrated video. Save the new settings and shut off the computer. Then put in the new video card and restart.

DXG-506V LCD comes on Blank White Screen

I had the same problem ...I bought a new 2 GB SD card put it in the camera and it worked fine.

It may have had something to do with formatting ..I tried to format the other card wiyh my computer when the video camera would stay on.
I tried to reset the camera that didn't work either.
The new SD Card did work.

Comuter screen is dark..nothing hapens

Do you have another monitor available to put in place of this one? Most likely the monitor has a problem and should be replaced. Before I purchase a new one though, I would either borrow a monitor to test my system or put this one on another computer to verify if it works. If it does, then you must test the video card.

Video card installation

You will need to pay close attention to how many beeps & if their short or long. Asus uses the Award BIOS. Beeps are a part of POST. Power On Self Test. Open the link below to find out what your beeps mean.

Graphic card

Do you have the 6-pin PCI-E power connector attached to the new video card? If you do it's possible you power supply is insufficient and may need to be upgraded.
