LG 65UH6030 14 monthes old, has sound and no video (no menu either). Led back lights are on and displays a darkish blue screen evenly.

I have replaced the Tcon, the main board and AV board I just purchased from ShopJimmy. All parts matched up and looked good. Same result!! Could it be a bad cable or the whole panel died?

It is most likely the output video signal coming from the main board, and not the back lights.

I have No Solution but I am so glad that I found this board saves me lots of trouble. I have the same model with the very same problem..I found this site about a class action suit against the company. If this is a True Statement, it appears that there is No Solution for this problem. Our set is a little over two years old. Lots of money for something that last no time.

Yes it does sound like the mainboard. But we have to confirm. I will see if there is a service manual for this unit in my collection but do you think you can safely work on it? Have you worked on electronics before? The last thing I want is you hurting yourself trying to fix it. HV circuits are not to be messed with unless you know about them.

SOURCE: I have an RCA TV

The fact that the screen illuminates properly and does not stay absolutely pitch black means that the backlights are working properly.

A faulty LCD Controller Board (or TCon board for short) could possibly cause the symptoms you describe. The Tcon board is usually located under its own RF shield and will have a large braided steel multiwire cable coming into the bottom of the board and several flat ribbon cables connected to the top by little plastic flip up connectors. A replacement board can be purchased on Ebay for around $70 plus shipping. See the following link for one example:

http://cgi.ebay.com/LCD-CONTROLLER-V320B1-L01-C-RCA-L32WD12-/360142646595?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item53da2cad43

Just use your mouse to click on the link, which is the underlined and highlighted text just above. This will open a new web browser page automatically for you and allow you to view the item information at the website indicated.

Just don't buy any that say AS IS for their description of condition. That is EBay speak for broken.
Make sure they say TESTED FULLY WORKING in the item description.

The best way to be sure you are getting the right part is to open up your set and check the part number that is printed directly on the circuit board itself. Then look that part number up on the internet or type that number into the EBay search box.

Just typing in the model number of your TV will sometimes give you a few different part numbers so you have to confirm which part is in your particular set.

Make sure any part that you order online has exactly the same part number as the one you are replacing. Sometimes it it just the last few digits that are different and it can make a difference.

SOURCE: Sharp lc 32sh20u when power

WELL FOLKS I just FINALLY found what I have been searching for, I own a Sharp LC 32SH12U LCD TV that has begun to show problems with it's picture, Now it's sound is great no change..But it has gotten to the point that when i first turn it on all I get are three or four bright WHITE lines on the right side of the screen. They are a bout one third from the very corner of the screen. After it warms up for a while, MOST of the time it will just pop up and go to working just fine, that is what was giving it away to me that it HAD to be a something generally easy to fix, And in all of my searching I FINALLY found what I was looking for..Rite here on FixYA.com...There it was right thre in PLAIN ENGLISH..(( The T-CON BOARD )) Timing Control or LCD Controller..Board. on teh LCD panel Assembly, It transfers the image signal of the TTL and LVDS signal to specific TFT but What you all really NEED TO KNOW is JUST what is going on with your TV set when the T-CON Board is going bad, And I am about to tell you....So her ya go.. If you TV has any of these symptoms Well then I can pretty much say that your T-CON Board is bad or going bad...OK..If you have A Scrambled Picture,LINES,multiple Pictures Color smears, blotches, Rolling Pictures after warm up, Blown Surface mounted Fuse No Picture, Very Dark Screen almost like there is no backlight....Folks if your SHARP LCD TV is doing ANY of thsi then you just may need to replace your T-CON BOARD!!!! Hey it beats buying a new TV RIGHT!!!! GOOD LUCK FOLKS!!!!! I have already bought my replacement T-CON Board, as soon as I get it and install it I will let everyone know how it went!! PLEASE CROSS YOUR FINGER"S AND PRAY THAT THIS WORKS FOR US!!!! Thanks Wade in Eastman Georgia...

My LG tv model number 42LN5400-UA no picture

It is a common problem for the LG 42/47 LN series LED TV, the problem is defective LED back lights strip (strips).

You have to open the display panel to find the bad one & replace it. The part number usually is printed on the strips, read 6916L-11XXA, you may purchase it from EBay.

47LG70 - PICTURE WENT OUT. STILL HAVE SOUND. HEARD A POPPING NOISE WHEN PICTURE WENT. TV IS ONLY 1 1/2 YEARS OLD. ANY IDEAS WHAT MAY OF HAPPENED.

I have had the same problem off and on with my 47LG70 for months. When the "popping" noise happens, the blue light in the corner stays on, so I know the tv is still on (sometimes I still have sound, sometimes I don't). Sometimes the screen goes black, but other times it is blue. If I turn the tv off then on again, it might stay on for seconds, minutes or hours. It's been very frustrating.

This seemed to happen right after I got my new Comcast box, which came with an HDMI 1.3 cable. I read somewhere online that this tv might not be compatible with that cable, so I unplugged it and am using component cables again. I just did this today, so I don't know if it will work, but so far the tv has been on for 30 minutes with no problems.

I'm pretty ignorant about HDMI compared to component cables. I imagine I will not get as good a picture with the component cables, but I am willing to sacrifice quality if I can just get the darn thing to work. Mine is also only 18 months old.

Hope this helps. If it doesn't, maybe someone else out there can help us both.
