Question about HP Photosmart 2610 All-In-One InkJet Printer
HP Lap Top also connected to network though Lynksys. Laptop has XP operating system. All-in-one 2610 Photosmart installed with original HP disc and has no operating problems.
However in the Dell E-521 with Vista Premium the scanner will not work and when you go to control panel, the All-in-one printer has disappeared. When you have it search for printer,it will ask you if you want to use driver already in computer, it will install printer, but not the rest of the files needed to scan with Printer will print find ,but can't scan. When you look in the HP files,it seems all the files are there. I can reinstall using the disk I have ordered for Windows Vista, and have done so numerous times, but after a few days the same disappearance will occur. It seams a HP excution file dissapears somewhere.
Are you running a space cleanup utility? HP unhelpfully uses the .tmp extension for live files, ensure you're not deleting them. I got "Scan.msi not found" and had to reinstall my AIO software every time until I told WinOptimiser to stop deleting .tmp files (except in the genuine TEMP folders).
