The front panel on my printer will not close. model S305 how can I close it?

Try as I could (Using a mirror and flashlight and feeling all around), I couldn't find a 'Lever' anywhere, but what I finally did find was that there are three thin molded plastic lines right there up under the center back of control panel. While holding the top of the printer (above the panel), and using one finger, I pushed up hard on those plastic lines. After a moment of pushing on them, I heard a 'click', and that released the panel so now it moves up & down again. It can be adjusted at whatever angle I like just like before it locked. If I want it to remain up, I just lift the panel all the way up until I hear that 'click' again. Hope this helps.

find a tight plastic locking clip on the underside of the control panel. It may be at the top middle edge on the underside. Give it a very firm upwards press and it should unlock the control panel section.

    We had same problem and this helped us. But you have to move your finger just to the right of the ridges and press firmly- you'll hear it click as it releases

    Lexmark s305 reset chip


    I believe that the chips are easily reused, but only once per printer. There are two options:

    I get mine from Ebay. A 5 pack (2 black) of 100 xl runs around $25 and shipping's free. I've gotten a few and haven't had much of a problem. Once in a while they'll be a little finicky getting started but I've never had a problem with the printer accepting it.

    Colors not showing up


    A firmware update for the Lexmark Impact S305 printer addresses print quality issues. Please visit the Lexmark website at http://bit.ly/guXLhl to download and install the update for your model. If more than one download is listed for your model, choose the first download in the list. If it is the wrong firmware level, an error message will tell you which firmware level is correct.

    My color inks are out of ink but still in the printer...i just replaced the black ink. when i try to print, it will not allow me and says to replace the color inks first. i followed the instructions to...


    The Lexmark Impact S305 printer requires all the cartridges to have ink in them to continue printing - even if you're printing using black ink only. To print true black, you actually use some of the color ink.
    Note: Leaving the color cartridge empty or dry isn't good for the printer. It can lead to poor print quality if you want to print color in the future.

    When I go to print a document, it pulls the paper through, but does not print


    Try to clean the printhead nozzles on your Lexmark Impact S305 printer. From the printer operator panel, press Setup button > Maintenance > Deep Clean Printhead. Your printer will then print a page forcing ink through the printhead nozzles and clean them.

    If that doesn't help, please visit the Lexmark support page to determine if your printer is affected with the printhead issue. Also, make sure your printer is updated. The firmware update will help give you a highly reliable print system.

    I have a lexmark s305 print and its showing me on the front screen unable to authenticate margnet cyan yellow ink cartridge

    ALL IN ONE S305 USB does not seem to work , i cannot press continue to install onto network , its a new usb B male to male ?


    The Lexmark S305 printer uses a USB type A on one end and type B on the other. Type A end goes into your computer and type B end goes into the printer. Make sure the USB cable is properly inserted.

    Impact s305 printer won't scan. it's stuck on "downloading application list"


    Try using the Lexmark Printer Home when scanning. If you have a PC, to access it click on Start > All Programs > Lexmark > Printer Home. You can scan to a .jpeg, PDF or .doc.

    If you're scanning from the control panel of your printer and you're getting an error message, "Cannot Retrieve Application List", most probably your firewall is blocking your printer from downloading the applications. You might want to add the Lexmark files in the exception of your firewall. Click on the link on how to add exceptions to your firewall.
