Question about Kodak EasyShare C315 Digital Camera

1 Answer

Picture is upside down and backwards

Just what the subject says. When I look into the LCD screen to take a picture, the view is upside down and backwards. As well, the menu is upside down and backwards. Is the camera just broken or is there something that can be done?

I have the same problem except that it's reverse. I put it away for about and year and when I tried it it seemed all okay again except the flash wasn't working. Soon again the flash was working and the screen was reverse. Kodak knows it's probably easy to fix and just looking for cash to fix the problem which will no doubt occur again. I would say try removing the battieries for a few days and the try it again.

When tKing a picture...should my subject appear in the view screen window...the big screen? Or do you have to look in tiny scdeen to see subject when taking a picture?

Use the largest screen to get a better idea of the focus. Smaller screens lack the resolution to show a slightly unfocused shot - but it will be noticeable later when printed or viewed on a large screen. Of course, these screens eat battery life - so you can use your optical viewfinder whenever possible.

Runco picture upside down

Yes possibly because you have done a complete system reset and not a lamp hour reset so you will need to go into image or screen settings and select front view ceiling mount configuration

Lcd screen stays on and cannot see subject

"Live View", where you can see and compose your picture on the LCD, was not available on any digital SLR before 2007 (the Rebel XTi came out in late 2006). So you need to compose your picture using the optical viewfinder, take your picture, and the picture shows up on the LCD after you've taken it.

But it's still faster than having to wait until the film is developed. :-)

LCD screen

Correct, Since the camera is an DSLR, there is no way for the sensor to have a 'preview' of your subject. The mirror reflects the image and the shutter is closed, covering the CCD sensor until you take a picture.

LCD upside down and backwards

look for a small pinhole somewhere on the camera body. then insert a pin to reset the camera. if no pinhole, remove batteries for a long time (about 24 hours) then try again.
