Question about Modems
I BOUGHT A MOBILE BROADBAND EVDO DU-650 IT WAS LOADED INTO MY LAPTOP (WINDOW VISTA) WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM AND RUN PERFECT, ALSO IT WAS LOADED IT INTO MY PC (WINDOW XP) WITHOUT ANY PROBLEM , BUT IT DID´NT RUN, DISPLAYING ERROR 691, I TRIED INTO DIFFERENTS PC´S (WINDOW XP) AND IT STILL KEPT SAME FAILURE. WOULD YOU PLEASE HELP ON THIS STUFF.
Error 691 can sometimes be an error on behalf of the systems of the provider whom owns the device. for example, telstra have a system which collects the customers details and the wireless cards sends information back to telstra to create your account. if by chance you have tried to re run the cd and done a full account install for the second time telstras systems may not be able to handle this. the wireless device u have may have a IMEI number (its like a registration number/serial number) which has been registered twice now and if this is the case telstras systems would have a fit and would fail to continue to allow the card to be used. this is not a guarantee and most consultants there would refuse to believe this is the case but while i was working there this was a very common issue and needed to be escalated.if it is not the issue then i have no other answers. 691 was a common error at telstra. also why did u buy evdo when the evdo network is being closed down and 3g is starting?
