I inherited a N5005. Apparently the camera had not been used for 10-12yrs. Fortunately the batteries were removed during this period of inactivity. Put 4 new batteries in, and rewound and removed the film that was in the camera.
From this point on, I cannot get the camera to "work". The lens will focus, the over - under exposure lights blink, and the focus indicator is solid green. Other than that there is no function to the camera. The shutter does not release. All this was done without film loaded, and the camera set for auto-exposure.

The lens aperure ring must be set to the highest number, ( IE, smallest aperture, f22,f32 ) for the camera to work in full auto. Also, with the ASA set to DX, the camera will not release without film.
