I have just upgraded from a Panasonic DMR-BWT700 to a DMR-BWT460GN and the 700 could tune in all the Sydney Australia free to air digital channels. With the 460GN it can only get channel 7 and SBS channels. Is there anything I can do to get the rest of the channels?
I suspect the DMR-BWT460GN has a weaker tuner than the DMR-BWT700. You can try moving your antenna. If it's outside, try a taller mast and make sure to check that the antenna hasn't rotated a few degrees on the mast. If you have an indoor antenna, switch to an outdoor one that is as high as possible.
If the transmitters are in different directions from your location, you can try combining the signals from two antennas pointing in the different directions. Alternatively, try an antenna rotator to move the antenna to align with the transmitters, as needed. (There are some that are automatic and change direction when you change channels.)
I hope these ideas help. Unfortunately, the only other option is to try and find a recorder with a better tuner. That would require trial and error testing with multiple boxes due to manufacturing issues.

Testimonial: "Unfortunately the antenna is mounted quite high above the house. I know last time when we had the antenna replaced the technician said we might need a mast head amp. Of course this is before we got digital TV. The strange thing is according to this site Channel 7 & 9 share the same transmitter : https://ozdigitaltv.com/transmitters/NSW/4-Gore-Hill-Artarmon-Willoughby . Likewise ABC and SBS share the same transmitter. I can only tune in Ch 7 and SBS. Surely if the tuner was weaker then I would get nothing or both channels that are on the same transmitter?"
Not necessarily, there could be differences in the signal strength at the different frequencies, just from the amplitude variation with distance. Remember you are dealing with wave forms that have peaks and valleys. There could also be interference that affects some frequencies more than others. (Cell phone towers are now a regular source of interference for some signals.)
An amplifier for the antenna might overcome the signal loss. It's worth trying. (Warning: when an amplifier gets damaged, it can turn into a signal filter and completely block a particular frequency/channel. When that happened to my splitter/amplifier, the signal from the closest transmitter to my home was lost. The simple test was bypassing the amplifier and finding the station's signal reached the TV.)
I hope this helps.

SOURCE: Sony WEGA KD-32DX50 U Tuning problem
This is answered on the sony support pages see
http://www.sony.co.uk/section/contact
and then enter 're-tune digital channels' in the search by keyword box for the explanation.
It basically needs a software upgrade which will be downloaded free if you've still got a freeview channel - but if you've lost them all you'll need help - anyway it's all explained by sony.
use a scart lead connected between your digital receiver to your tv
My LG plasma TV 50pc3d when power-on only see vertical bars. what 's going on. please help. Thank you
SOURCE: Cannot get any digital channels since local digital switch over
The official line on this is that you should try and retune again, but there are some Panasonic models with similar model numbers to yours which have been specifically identified as having incompatibility problems with the Freeview retune.
However, your model is definitely not one which appears on the problem list, so it's worth checking that your aerial wasn't misaligned or damaged during the gales last weekend. In addition the Winter Hill transmitter is currently undergoing work until December which will significantly boost the digital signal and give it HDTV capability, so your box may have have been knocked out of kilter if the current digital service was temporarily operating at restricted capacity. Digital signals are by their nature much weaker than analogue tv and if you have a marginal aerial system which has been up for many years and which feeds a number of televisions in the house then it's definitely a good idea to see about upgrading your aerial system.
The difference in actual parts costs between a top spec aerial system and a poor one are surprisingly low, it's also easily possible with careful design and installation to get a better performance with poor parts than you can get with a poorly designed and installed system using top quality parts. One thing does hold true though: a well designed and installed system using poor parts will only last a few years before needing serious attention but a proper job can last up to thirty years.
If you're sure about your aerial system and retuning does not help, then you'll need to contact Panasonic directly. The first web address below will give you their contact number along with a list of Freeview boxes with known retune issues. A second web address which I've given takes you to an excellent Sheffield based tv aerial company which has an incredibly informative website.

SOURCE: Can the Panasonic DMR-EH55 be made to receive
If you receive your channels through your local cable company, nothing will change. The DMR-EH55 will continue to work normally.
If you receive your channels with your rooftop antenna you'll need a Digital to Analog TV Converter Box. The unit itself will not receive digital signals directly.
