Question about Kenmore 23612 Progressive PowerMate Bagged Canister Vacuum
MY VACUUM WON'T SHUT OFF EVEN AFTER SLIDING THE "ON/OFF" SWITCH INTO THE "OFF" POSITION. I HAVE ALREADY REPLACED THE ELECTRONIC SWITCH (SEARS #8191600) TO NO AVAIL. PROBLEM STILL PERSISTS. SHOULD I REPLACE THE WIRE HARNESS (SEARS # KC37GBZTZV06)???
Need a model number to be sure, but alot of the Sears cannisters have a relay and it is found mounted in the motor comparment, it may be sticking in the on position.

The "vacuum won't shut off" problem is caused by a faulty triac (electronic component) on the P.C.B. assembly. You have two choices, depending on your handiness:

I am trying to reassemble my vacuum handle (kenmore 116216120) It is a canister and the wiring harness replacement did not have a diagram and I could not see the assembly until it was apart
Anybody know how to do this??
