Re: Disc No Read
Ok this is a common problem with the PS 2 and even when you use a wet or dry system it does not work. You will have to open that baby up! Here is a link that spells out exactly what to do! I recommend you are confident before trying. I did it to my PS2, have not had a problem since! http://www.bolthole.com/ffxi/dvdclean.html
Good luck, it worked for me!

Either bad laser or dirty laser. Take your console apart if you dont have a warranty break down the disc drive metal case and wipe your laser with a q tip and rubbing alchol not to wet though kinda wipe qtip on ur arm to get most of the alchol off the qtip so it wont pour into the laser when you wipe it off. hopefully that works if not its a bad laser.
You may have dust on the Blu-ray lens. The lens has 3 different wavelengths, one for games and bluray cds, one for cds and one for movies. The best thing to do is to use a disc cleaner which you can buy down at your local electronics store. The cd contains small brushes which clean the len of dust and dirt. Also try removing as much dust of your unit as possible as playstation 3 consoles are dust magnets.
Downloadable games are not playable on PS2. If you're trying to play pirated games that you've downloaded from the Internet you're going to need to have your PS2 hardware modded to play DVD-Rs, which is expensive, dangerous, and illegal.
If Wii gives Disc Read Error, first step you need to check is to try
another disc or clean the exisitng disc. This will confirm that problem
is with either Wii or Disc. If the console itself is giving disc read
error then it needs to be repaired. You may check out DIY Wii Fix Guide,
that will show step by step information to fix the problem yourself. It
also gives information on fixing many Wii Related Problems, so its a

Greetings, I had the same problem with my Wii. Unfortunatly nothing worked to fix the problem so I called Nintendo's customer services. They were able to replace the unit free of charge. I would simply give them a call: 1-800-255-3700 and press 2. Good Luck, -WN
