No volume from Audio-Technica ATM410

Audio-Technica ATM410 plugged into an HP Media Center PC and can't get any volume. Zero volume if plugged into Mic input in front of machine. Extremely low volume if plugged into Mic input in rear of machine.

i has recently purchased the forntech micro phones for my system.
i am able to hear the music from the system but i am not able to record my voice in the system.
please help me out to slove the problem

the mic you mention is a dynamic mic, and needs a mic preamp to get decent levels for most computer sound inputs
