Caller ID with the H50113

When a call comes in (reading this through a HyperTerminal) it rings and the name field will come in fine, the number field comes in with "OUT OF AREA" and then a field comes with DDN=2045551212 (for example). The issue is if you have software that is trying to read the caller id it needs to be in the number field. I think I have the right modem driver (inf file dated May 1, 2005).

Thanks in advance for any direction you could give me.

Thanks,
Bryan

That modem has an Agere chipset. I think you should try a more recent driver. I believe the current one is 2.1.84.0 (November 2007). The driver .INF files allow the modem responses to be properly interpreted. If you can't find a recent version on Hiro's site, try another vendor's site. Encore USA also makes modems with the Agere chipset. After installing the driver you will want to add "AT+VCID=1" as an advanced setup string for the modem (via control panel phone & modem options applet).

How do you turn off talking caller ID on panasonic kx-tg4032?

This feature lets you know who is calling

without looking at the display.

To use this feature, you must:

- subscribe to a Caller ID service of

your service provider/telephone

company.

- turn this feature on (page 24).

When caller information is received, the

handsets and base unit announce the

caller's name or phone number received

from your service provider/telephone

company following every ring.

The unit announces in English only.

L Name pronunciation may vary. This

feature may not pronounce all names

correctly.

L Caller ID service has a limit of how

many characters can be displayed. If

the caller's name is too long, the

handset may not be able to display or

announce the entire name.

L The announcement is heard at the

same level as the ringer volume (page

16, 23).

L If you turn on the answering system

and set the number of rings "2

rings" (page 36), the unit does not

announce the caller information. If

"Toll saver" is selected and there

is a new message, the unit does not
announce the caller information.

No caller ID. TP company says I have service.

  • Did you fully charge your phone? - Make sure you fully charge for 16-24 hours .

  • Is the battery old? - Replace the battery.

  • Is the electrical outlet switch turned on? - If you are using AC (electrical) power, make sure that the unit is connected to a non-switched electrical outlet.

  • Are the connecting wires tight - Unplug the AC power converter from the unit and plug it back in.

  • Do you have Caller ID service with your telephone company - In order to receive Caller ID records, you must subscribe to the standard name and number Caller ID service available through your local telephone company. If the Caller ID works for normal calls but not on Call waiting calls, then you must contact your phone company to get the combined CID/CW service.

  • Caller ID shows up after second ring - Be sure to wait until the second ring before answering. Caller ID signals comes through after the first ring, if caller pick ups phone too soon Caller ID signal will not be transmitted to the handset.

  • Confirm that caller ID is still working on that particular line by checking another phone on the same line - If Caller ID is not coming through contact your phone company provider.

If this does not fix your problem, contact your authorized Service Center.*

H50113 modem takes 1:30 to hang up regardless of message length

Ok, so I tried the modem on a new Dell (C2D laptop), WinXp, USB 2.0, with the XP drivers supplied from the CD, and I still get the same result. Sadly, this is either a defective modem, or yet another driver issue that hasn't been resolved. In any case, I ended up downloading a program called PhoneTray Free which is a Caller ID/Telemarketer Zapper program. This works quite nicely with the FaxTalk software supplied with the Hiro modem. Basically, I can eliminate a number of the 1:30 messages by having the PhoneTray software ZAP the calls on the first ring automatically if they are a blacklisted number. Hopefully, this helps.

LG KU990 Caller ID

  • If you answer the call, the number (or number and name) stays on the display until either you or the caller hangs up.
  • If you do not answer the call, most display units keep a record of the calls received, including the phone number (or number and name), date, and time.
  • If the letter P, priv, private, or a similar term appears, the caller may have blocked the display of his or her number.
  • If the letter O, ????, out of area, or a similar message appears, the caller either is in an area that does not support Caller ID or has placed the call using operator assistance.
  • Caller ID comes with Anonymous Call Rejection, which, when active, allows you to reject calls from callers who block their number. Your phone does not ring, and the caller hears a message saying blocked calls will not go through.
    • To turn on Anonymous Call Rejection, press
      *77 on a touch-tone phone (or dial 1177 on a rotary phone)
    • To turn off this service, press
      *87 on a touch-tone phone (or dial 1187 on a rotary phone)

KX-TG6071M 5.8 GHz talking caller id not working

Hi trinigirl, You should not have to do anything to make the caller id information come through. There is no programming to perform for the regular caller id identification on your display after the second ring (it takes at least one ring cycle for the digital information to pass through). Your model also has the talking caller id function, which will announce in English the callers name or a custom name you can prepare in the phone book of handset number 1. With all that said, you are not getting caller id showing after the second ring, then your phone is bad (which is pretty rare for this symptom), or your phone line still does not have caller id activated. To troubleshoot your problem you need another phone line with working caller id and/or a different phone that is known good to pass caller id. That way you can interchange the phones/lines to see if it is your line or your phone. My guess it is your line somehow, though I have fixed phones that won't pass caller id, but rarely. If it is your phone, try rebooting it, thats about all you can do short of sending it in for repair. Let me know how it goes. CG
