Question about Intel (RK80532PG0881M) Pentium 4, 3 GHz Processor
1am in morning i just turned back on my PC as i cant sleep.
I notice on bootup screen my Apparent Athlon 2600+ 1.9ghz is now 1160mhz.
Always, Always it has shown up as 2600 1.9ghz on startup. so i restarted few times
i even ran Everestv2, and checked in Mycomputer> propeties where again it would normally
show up Athlon 2600 1.9 ghz, it shows up 1.16.
Im sure as hell havent changed the CPU and no has anyone else i know done that without
me knowing. Ill kill em if thet have :)...
but no. nothings been changed.
like...is this some joke on me or has my PC gone A-wall on me??
Why would my PC show up as 1160mhz instead on 1919mhz which is what it should or
nomally show as???
Hi dont worry, for some reason the FSB speed has been changed in the bios,
to fix it you need to restart the pc, press del or F2 on some machines while on the black screen, a blue bios screen will appear, i think it should be under advanced or cpu settings, varys on different machines, look for one thats CPU FSB probably says 100 or 133, if it says 100 change to 133 if 133 change to 166,
once you have made the change, save and quit
and it will show the correct speed, if you change the settings above what i have suggested you will be overclocking the machine and it might not start up, and you will have to remove bios jumper on motherboard, but just change from 100-133 or 133-166 and you will be fine...
Have a nice christmas
