Not spinning, and buzzing sound

Began getting "Sud" and "F02" error messages; detergent was fine. However, tub will not spin, and motor has a loud buzzing noise. Is it worth going in there myself for a belt check, or best left to a service professional? Thanks!

Belt is fine - tight and solid.

Yes it is worth having alook at the belt , its easy to put another belt on , also easy too look if the belt is on there or snapped, just unscrew the back , if it is the belt which i agree with you i think it is , you will need to write down the model number and make a few phone calls the pick up another belt , if the belt is ok and the motor is buzzing , i would suggest not to plug it in anymore and to have a service professional do a free quote on it for you

F02 is the code for long drain. The first thing to do is check the pump filter. Remove the lower panel by removing the 3 torq screws, the panel will come off. Right in front will be the pump filter. Remove the cap and pull the filter out. Clean out any lint and/or debris. See that you have some low basin to collect water, or some towels when the filter is opened. Or take the rear drain tube from the wall drain and lower it to basin or bucket. (The drain pipe must be fitted back in the SAME position) The spin will not work when your filter or pump is blocked.

I have a Whirlpool duet front load washer model # GHW9150PWD. I have an error code of F 02 and SUD. I have so far cleaned the filter and the lines, replaced the pump, replaced the water pressure swith and...

6 - 1
During Drain Routine
During the Drain Routine, the water level is checked continuously. Normal drain will occur until the
pressure switch senses no water in the wash tub and there is no foam (suds). The drain pump will
operate an additional 15 seconds after the pressure switch reports no water or foam.
If the drain routine operates for four (4) minutes and the pressure switch senses any foam (suds) in
the wash tub, the Central Control Unit will start the "Kill-Foam" Routine. (See description of this
Routine below.) After the Kill-foam Routine is concluded, the Drain Routine will restart. If, after
four (4) minutes the pressure switch still senses foam in the wash tub, the Central Control Unit will
go into Failure Mode. The digital display will show, F02.
During Spin (Extract) Routine
During the Spin/Extract Routine the water level is checked continuously. If, during this routine, the
pressure switch senses the presence of foam (suds) in the wash tub, the Central Control Unit will
stop the drive motor and the basket will stop spinning. The electronic control will count the number
of spin repetitions that are attempted due to foam (suds). There are a maximum of three (3)
attempts for each Spin/Extract Routine.
Kill-Foam Routine
The Remaining Time counter is stopped.
The digital display shows Sud.
The Drain Pump is turned OFF.
The Central Control Unit will fill the wash tub with 1 gal. (4 L) of cold water.
While the tub is filling the basket will tumble 1 sec. ON/15 Sec. OFF.
Once the tub is filled, the drive motor will turn OFF and the basket will rest without any
movement for five (5) minutes.
After the five (5) minute rest, the remaining time counter will restart and the digital display
will show the remaining time left in the routine.
If the Kill-Foam routine was initiated during a Spin/Extract Routine, the tumbling action
will be reduced to a cycle of 3 sec. ON/13 sec. OFF. If, at the end of either the Drain or Spin/
Extract Routines, a suds condition still remains, the digital display will show Sud.
Sud will also be displayed for a short period at the end of a cycle, if a Suds condition was
detected during the cycle. This will alert the consumer to reduce the amount of detergent in
subsequent uses MANUAL

Final spin cycle I get sud error code or f2, water mostly drained but no spin. When I restart the spin cycle just starts to spin then stops, sounds like it drains some more water then makes a small...

Check the drain hose and make sure it is not plugged or kinked • Check the electrical connections at the pump and make sure the pump is

running. • Check the drain pump filter for foreign objects • If the above does not correct the problem replace the pump

The motor control unit senses a suds lock condition by analyzing the current draw on the drive motor. If "Sud" is displayed a potential suds lock is detected. This may signify a bad pump, an extra heavy load, excessive detergent, or excessive suds.

F02 code and SUD on occasion

If you check the drain pump reservoir and still experience problems, you may have a pump with a damaged motor/impeller, or something lodged in one of the drain lines. In particular, the drain line that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the pump.

I recommend you remove the inlet hose, as well, and inspect for clogs. In is common for small garments to become lodged in this area and restrict water flow to the drain pump. Check the output drain line for obstructions as well. When you open the pump reservoir, check the impeller to ensure all the blades are still intact.

It does not take much to damage these small drain pumps. The error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes. So...if the impeller or motor become damaged, and the pump does not pull water at the correct volume, you may still experience the drain error. In this case, you will have to replace the pump in order to get the error to clear. The following link explains how:

Replacements can be purchased at any of the following websites:

Prices vary between sites, so shop and compare. the first three sites listed also have helpful exploded view parts illustrations to assist you with locating and properly identifying the parts you may need.

If you have any questions, please post back and let me know. I hope this can help you.

Keep getting F 02 Message

If this is a newer model Maytag (such as the Epic), "F02" is a Long Drain error code. This is usually an indication that you have an obstruction somewhere in the drainage system. Most commonly, this means there is something lodged in the drain pump or inlet line running from the wash tub to the pump. There is a white screw off cap on the drain pump that you can remove to inspect the pump impeller and clean. The following link explains:

Included is a follow-on link that explains how to access and check the drain pump to clean. You may also have to remove the inlet hose that runs from the bottom of the wash tub to the inlet side of the drain pump. Debris and small articles of clothing can commonly clog in this area as well causing the drain cycle to fail.

NOTE: The "SUD" error code can often occur in conjunction with the "F02" error code. This is due to air being detected in the drainage system, which can occur if the pump is not running, or if you have an obstruction BEFORE the pump. You need to remove the inlet hose from the pump to ensure it is also not blocked. Correct your drainage system fault, and the SUD error should go away.

If you have any questions about this repair, or need additional assistance, please post back with your MODEL NUMBER and let me know. I hope this information is helpful to you.

NOTE: If these preliminary measures do not correct the problem, you may have to replace the drain pump. It does not take much to damage the pump impeller or motor. Since the error code is generated if the drain cycle exceeds 8 minutes, if the pump is damaged and can't pump at the required volume, the error code will continue to appear until the pump is replaced.

F02 Error Code & SUD message

Knowing from our washer, the SUD code is too much foam from the detergent. Since most soaps today are highly concentrated, or High Efficiency soap, try using less soap as a starter. :)

No belt on your machine. Sounds like motor coupler that joins motor and transmission is broken. Very inexpensive part but a few steps involved in getting machine disassembled Look up YouTube video on replacing motor coupler on Whirlpool washer.

Washing machine - not spinning, loud buzz

Sounds like your machine is not receiving any water. It could be that your tap (fawcet) is turned off, or there's a kink in the hose.
