Question about Whirlpool WTW5300SQ Top Load Washer

Water Never Stops, Drum Never Fills, Cycle Doesn't Change

This sounds like the level sensor, and subsequent effects. Do you guys have any other thoughts? This was purchased only 4 months ago. Are these machines lemons?

Micro, sounds like your drain hose is too far down the standpipe and it is siphoning. Pull the drain hose out and see if it fills ok. Catriver.

Machine retains water

Please check the small thin rubber pipe that is connected to the drum. it acts as a pressure sensor may be it is clogged and not able to give proper water level reading. use skewer or thick flexible wire to clean it.

My washer fills and agitates, but when it gets to the rinse/spin cycle it stops and makes a loud grinding noise. Thanks for your time

If it doesn't drain the water after the wash cycle and the sound is more like a buzz then the first thing that I suggest you check is the lid switch. If the lid switch is damaged then the machine will not pump the wash cycle water out and it will not go into the subsequent cycles. The "grinding" or buzzing sound can be caused by an intermittent signal reaching relay switches or solenoids.

Washing machine overfills and wont cycle to agitate

It is possible that the water level sensor is not working to switch off the inlet valve. So drain out and check the water level sensor, it is a pressure switch and can be checked if the diaphragm is damaged.
This sensore is fitted on the drum and works as the water fills, the water enters the jacket and pushes the switch on.
Hope this tip helps you.

GE wcxr1070a washing machine. fills with water

Check the water level switch and the plastic tubing to the switch.
Sometimes soap scum stops up the plastic hose and the water level switch does not close to send power to the timer.
If the plastic hose is good and the water level fills and stops replace the water level switch.

Kenmore front-load washer stops at rinse cycle

When the washer initially fills for the wash, is it only hot water entering the drum? Try switching the water temperature between hot and cold as it fills. If any of them show little or no water getting through, it sounds too easy but check to make sure water supply taps are on, and that the cold/hot fill hoses aren't reversed. Remove the fill hoses and check any of the screen filters for blockage (in the hoses and in the inlet water valve). When the machine stops and waits to fill but all you hear is a hum, it sounds like there is power going to the valve but water is not able to get through it.
Good luck!
