Question about Samsung TXN3071WHF 30" TV

2 Answers

TXN3071WHF Samsung Volume has a mind of its own. It will continuously move from "0" to "100" without any user input or indicated a message "not available" on the screen. I have the sound set to off on the TVand use my dish network box for sound, but I get a static noise once the set gets to about 80.

Set-up has remained the same for the past several years. Recently started this behavior. The sound level application (screen image) as if you are adjusting the sound appears out of no where and begin moving up the scale. I can adjust it down, but in a few minutes is starts moving back up until it reaches 100 on the scale. Last several days the NOT AVAILABLE image appears continuous and it will not go to the sound level image unless teh "not available" image goes away. The occurs regardless of using the remote and the remote indicator light does flicker when it moves up the scale.

You think like I do. I have tested all the remotes used by taking out the batteries and it does the same thing. I removed the TV's cover and pulled the module that controls the touch sensitive buttons, cleaned them to make sure they were not sticking and the problem returned. There are two modules located where the button are. One appears to control the buttons and the other is for the remote. The remote module has the red light that lites up when the remote is activated.

    Thanks for the effort.

Atlanta Georgia & its surburbs. I am assuming the sound board is the one where the buttons are. It attaches to the main board via a two or three wire harness.

Sorry to but in here but the problem could lie in the physical buttons on the TV itself. If you can unplug it and remove the screws on the back, you will have access to the front buttons. Two things: A broken or stuck button piece(the thing that the button is attached to) or a faulty sound board. Replacing the sound board is not too hard unusually and can often be done at home. Just make sure that before you start that you have the right tools for the job and that the screws are easy to get at. You can order the part from your local electronics dealer or from Samsung itself. If you tell me your location, I can tell you where the nearest dealer is.
Good Luck

I believe these are Samsung dealers that can help get the part.

If for some reason this link doesnt help, let me know. There may be many other companies that deal with Samsung that are listed in the local phone book too.

It sounds like stereo mode is comming on and off , you will need to go into the audio options for network box and adjust the sound options , Hz e.c.t and i would also suggest to retune the tv stations , another thing , im not sure how u have it set up , on the back of the network box there should be FL/front left FR /front right output plug holse , e.c.t Audio out , plug the cords into these holes and the other end of the cords plug into tv at the back AUX , Audio In , R / L , red /white , let me know how you go , if you need more help i will be happy to assist

Hmm a simple fix maybe , is it possible the volume button on the remote is sticky or pressing down , see how you go with the batteries out of the remote , i mean see if it still does it while remote is inactive , if it dosent do it when remote is inactive , then u need to pull remote apart and clean it, this happens when drinks e.c.t are spilt on it

Tip

Phone is not ringing

Please try the following troubleshooting tips:
  • Ensure that you phone is on and that there is sufficient signal strength.
    • Signal strength is indicated by the signal indicators at the left side of the phone's display,
    • These indicators move up as the strength of the signal increases and down as the signal decreases.
    • To increase your phone's signal strength, try moving your phone slightly, or move towards a window if you're calling from inside a building.
  • For some phone models, if there is a headset attached to the phone, it will not ring through the speaker, only through the headset. Detach the headset and retest the phone to determine if that resolves the issue.
  • If the phone's profile is set as "Silent", "Flight", "Online", or any other profile where ringing is silenced, it will not ring. Change the profile to the "General" or "Normal" profile and retest. Instructions for checking and changing your profile are included in your user guide.
  • Ensure that a ring tone has been enabled and the volume is not too low. Instructions for adjusting volume and selecting a ring tone are included in your user guide.
  • If call divert is activated, your calls may be going straight to voice mail without your phone ringing. Instructions for activating and inactivating call divert are included in your user guide. For assistance with voice mail, please contact your operator or service provider.

Forgot screen lock for Samsung galaxy 10.1

A hard reset will do the trick.

1. With the device off, press and hold Volume Up and Power.
2. Release the Power button when you see the Samsung logo ( about 3 seconds), but continue to hold Volume Up until the recovery screen appears.
3. Use the Volume buttons to navigate the menu and select wipe data / factory reset. Press Power to continue.
The Galaxy Tab should then go through the hard reset process ( formatting user data).
4. When formatting completed, navigate to select Reboot system and press Power.

My samsung avr720 reads "protection" when turned

Protect, Protection, Protector, etc. are all indicators of a problem with the output (speakers) of the device. Most times, if you're lucky - you'll find a shorted speaker wire. Other times, it can be an expensive fix. Hopefully, you shut it off right away without cranking the volume up.

Start at the rear of the unit. Make sure no individual strand of the speaker wire has touched the binding post of an adjacent speaker. Continue along each speaker wire to the binding post or termination point on each speaker. Make sure the insulation along the entire length of all the wires haven't become crushed or damaged where they pass under rugs, around corners, etc.

If you can't find a problem, you can try disconnecting all the speakers and plugging in headphones. and power on again. If the Protect message is clear, you should be able to hear the program through the headphones and have full control over the volume. This means there is stall an issue with the speaker wire(s) from the back of the unit up to and including a speaker(s).

If it still indicates Protect, the original problem continued long enough or the volume was turned up high enough to cause an internal failure of the amplifier's output transistors and will require service t restore to working order again.

I hope this helps & good luck!

Volume buttons stopped working

Check in the TV's AUDIO menu for anything related to turning on/off speakers. Also, unplug RCA's that you may have hooked up to the Audio OUT ports. Some video inputs may not have a sound input associated. The only one I can think of would be VGA, but even that would be rare.

Xbox 360 screen cut off on left side

Ok, I've had the same issue and I was able to fix my problem. I was getting cut off sides in HD mode on my playstation.

I entered the service menu by doing this:

Turn TV Off
Use remote and hit "Mute 1 8 2 Power" (not at the same time, but one after the other)

The TV will come on with the service menu. Enter the 1080i adjustment screen. Write down ALL the values in case you mess up. Adjust the values as necessary to fit your screen. It's sort of like adjusting a computer monitor's image for different resolutions.
