The dishwasher will not turn on

The dishwasher acts as if it has no power. I checked all the house circuit breakers and none are tripped. The dishwasher circuit is not identified. I removed the interior of the door and smelled burnt plastic. I noted that a blue unit on the Circuit board/timer unit was melted and wires blackened. Can this individual component be replaced? Do I need an entire circuit board? What else could contribute to this problem?

Congratulations - you found the fault !

The options you have are -
Buy areplacement board from a spares centre.
Buy a take- off board from a scrap one on Ebay.
Or - Learn about electronic repair - and identify the burnt component , buy the parts and replace it yourself.

You can take it to an electronic repair shop - if you can find one - or a electronic supply shop - and ask for a new one of "them".

If replacing a burnt component - often there is a cause other than just that component.
Experience tells you what else might be wrong to cause it.

My dishwasher will not switch on. I switched it off at the PowerPoint. No change

If your dishwasher will not switch on and you have already switched it off and back on at the power point, there are a few potential causes for the issue:
  1. Tripped Circuit Breaker: Check your home's circuit breaker and see if the breaker for the dishwasher has tripped. If it has, switch it back on.
  2. Door Latch: Make sure that the dishwasher door is closed and latched properly, sometimes the dishwasher will not turn on if the door is not closed or latched correctly.
  3. Control Board: The control board is responsible for controlling the various functions of the dishwasher. If it is malfunctioning, it may prevent the dishwasher from turning on.
  4. Power failure: If there was a power failure in your area, the dishwasher may have shut down and will not turn on until power is restored.
  5. Water supply: Make sure that the water supply to the dishwasher is turned on and that the water pressure is adequate.
  6. Drain hose: Make sure that the drain hose is not clogged or blocked.
  7. Water inlet valve: The water inlet valve controls the flow of water into the dishwasher. Make sure it is not clogged or blocked and that it is functioning properly.
It's important to check all these possibilities before calling for a repair technician, as some of these issues can be resolved easily. If none of the

Dishwasher breaker trips when appliance is off

Check your circuit for a fault.
Domestic appliances have a capacitive RF filter in the mains input. Switch both live and neutral off with a double pole switch at the consumer unit when you are away. That will stop the residual current trip breaking when the neutral line is still connected.

No power. Will not turn on

It may have tripped the internal breaker, and or the house circuit breaker. Go tot the house fuse box and check that first.

The power went out and when the power was restored the dishwasher did not come back on,whats wrong?

the surge could have fried the circuit board in the dishwasher or maybe the house circuit it's hooked into. maybe first check all of your breakers in your breaker box just to be sure one of them isn't tripped

Kenmore dishwasher wont turn on seems to have no power.

Check the breaker in your breaker box, it may have tripped. Reset it and run the dishwasher. If it trips again, have the dishwasher looked at by a professional service person.

Power overload swith in the house has started tripping when the dishwasher is started

Is this happening only now! If it was working OK earlier and tripping now only it may be due to some electrical fault inside the machine.

Switch off all the high power appliances and try the dish washer. If it works you have to check the breaker overall power rating!

If it trips during dish washer ON, the fault could be in the heater circuit of your machine. Heater Insulation would have become weak etc.

The electrical consumer unit trips when the dishwasher is on, swicthing all the sockets off in the house. An electrician has told me it could be a number of things, namely a problem with the neutral, some...

You might need to contact a different electrician. Also a different retailer of machines as this one is obviously trying to make a sale. The apparent problem is that the house is wired with all of the outlets in the house on one circuit breaker--a recipe for trouble. Any house with multiple outlets should be divided into zones so that the whole house doesn't shut down if one appliance trips the breaker. A heavy user of power like a dishwasher should have it's own breaker and wiring for that machine alone. The electrician should have load-checked the dishwasher to make sure it is not drawing more than rated power, then suggested that it be wired to it's own breaker and circuit. Any other high power appliances should also have separate circuits (washing machine, microwave, toaster, etc.). Hope this helps!

Keeps blowing the fuse in the house

Try to turn off everything else that is on the same circuit then turn on the dishwasher. If the breaker still trips then the circuit breaker might be malfunctioning or the dishwasher might be defective (in which case the circuit breaker is doing exactly what it is designed to do.) I would bet that it's the dishwasher thats causing the problem. Check with the manufacturer to see if there are any recalls on that model.

Dishwasher not working - Cancel light flashing

If your dishwasher doesn't work at all, check these:

Power from the house
Door switch
Wiring
Timer or selector switch
Power from the house Is there power getting to the dishwasher? This can be difficult to test, because dishwashers are usually wired directly to an electrical circuit, rather than plugged into the wall. But at least check for a blown fuse or a tripped circuit breaker.

Door switch The door switch is important because, if it's defective, the dishwasher won't work at all. To reach it, you need to remove the control panel cover, or sometimes the interior liner of the door. If it's defective, you need to completely replace it.

Wiring Often the main wiring connection from the house, at the dishwasher, burns and breaks the connection. If that's the problem, the wires must be repaired/replaced as necessary. If that's not the problem, check the wiring to the door switch, the wiring between the door and the lower part of the dishwasher, and the wiring to the timer. Repair any broken, burned, brittle, or defective wiring, using the proper appliance-grade wire and connectors.

Timer or selector switch Although it's uncommon, the timer or the selector switch may be defective. If so, you need to replace the defective part, because neither of these can be repaired.
