On this model, sounds like the clutches are bound up in the bypass feeder.
These gears are in constant motion with other gears in rotation in the copier.
The mechanical gears on the bypass feeder need to be disabled. The machine cannot be used. The work is involved in order to do this repair job.
If all else fails, Place a service call to Xerox for repairs before other gears get broken, then major problems can occur.
there is either paper stuck around a roller (3) that feeds the paper or you have a bad clutch, most mnfs use magnetic clutches at the rear of the machine or bypass that get a red rusty dust in them causing squeal. recommend xerox takes a look...sorry they are quite expensive hourly
