Question about Durabrand DU1901 TV

1 Answer

Connecting a playstation or dvd player

I have one of the routers going into the cabel line of the t.v. ( this is the same system we have used on our previous t.v., and it worked fine.)The router will allow for multiple systems, ie. dvd player, game system, be connected all at once. When we bought the refurbished t.v. it came with a universal remote and now we cannot get anything to play through the t.v. except cable. Thanks for any help I can get, our daughter is getting a game system for Christmas.

Just stopped working. all lights light up - but

you did not post model, you did not post what operating system on your computer either. general help therefore only can be provided. if you post required data, then i can provide more detailed instructions how to check your router.

disconnect all cables from the router, including power cable, wait about 20sec then insert cable connecting to the computer, insert cabel connecting your telephone line and then insert power cable.

in about 2min router should connect itself to the line and to the computer.

check if you have valid ip address on your computer (in most linksys routers it will look someting like: 192.168.1.***), that will meant that router did establish connection with computer. check if you can connect to the internet (through the cable!), if you can, this meant that your router is working correctly, so is your computer. disconnect cable and check if you can connect via wireless, if yes, problem is solved, if you cannot, check and compare settings between your computer and router, problem ususally is wrong credentials on the computer or wrong protocol. both of these must be same on the router and on the computer.

if you use wep, wep must be in both, on router and on the computer, if you use network name johnny, exactly this same spelling in router and computer must follow, same with password. and do not use spaces in passwords! especially if you use password on every login...

Can this be used with a MAC?

Any router will work, TCP/IP is a network standard, definately double check the cables. Your DSL modem is usually and the router is usually Check your documentation for the default IP. Once you know it type it in to the broswer in your Mac. Before doing so connect with an ethernet cable, purchase a new one if necessary. Connect from the <--> labeled port on the mac, or ethernet port. These wires are not like phone lines, they have 8 wires instead of 4/6. The router usually has ports on the back labeled 1, 2, 3, 4, and WAN. the 1-4 ports are LAN and that is also labeled on there. Plug the mac into port 1 and any other computers in after you get internet. once the physical connection is recognized. Go to your browser in the mac and proceed. if you get a web based router configuration page your router is working, then make the WAN connection to the ethernet port on the back of the dsl mode. Be sure your cables are good. Also go to your control panel and make sure your internet is enabled in your network section.
