How do i fix it

1, Your copier might be producing black lines if there is an obstruction on the copier glass. Take a soft lint-free cloth, dip it in distilled or non-contaminated water, squeeze the excess water and clean the copier glass.
2, After cleaning it with a wet cloth, wipe-off with a dust-free dry cloth. Now try to copy again and check if the print comes out without black lines.

Lift up the document feeder and look for wite-out on the small glass.
If there is a sliding blue tab on the toner cartridge, move it back and forth 10 times. (cleans the charge wire)
Physically look at he drum, it should have no toner on it.

tthis is really old 25 years plus. replaced the drun cartridge which also contains the toner good luck canon sr tech

Replace the drum/toner unit it should be sold as one complete cartridge.
rather expensive. you might check for a compatible or remanufactured cartridge
SOURCE: hp c4380 will print fine
Try using the HP Print Diagnostic Utility in Windows.
If this don,t work reinstall the printer.
