Dry will run for 5min then shut down but will run ok in timer mode

Consider a temperature switch that cuts in(turns off) if the dryer gets too hot. Does Timer Mode run with the heat on. Your dryer vent may be plugged causing the dryer to overheat.

No heat to the dryer, running okay just not heating up

Hi,

If you are having problems with your gas dryer not heating the most common problem is that the ignitor goes bad. Even though it glows sometimes it is still not working properly.

if you dryer is gas check out this gas no heat tip....

If you have an electric dryer, you can have many different things that can go wrong causing the dryer not to heat.

check out this electric no heat tip...

Dryer heats okay, but it doesn't run.

You likely have a broken tumbler belt. You will need to replace it.

No heat

Your problem is more than likely one of the following:

* heat source: elec. heat element, gas coils, gas igniter or radiant sensor (depending on elec. or gas model)

Golf Gti 1.8T 20v Mk4 2000, the problem im having

check for the variable vane actuator operation for the exhaust turbine wheel of the turbo
there are movable vanes around the turbine that can be moved to direct the exhaust gas onto the turbine at low engine rpms giving a greater / quicker boost response
those vanes rust up from the heat, the actuator can fail and the vacuum hose goes hard and cracks
also there is a sensor that controls the actuator vacuum and they fail as well
