Ipod froze

A white screen on an iPod Touch is the sign of a generic error, meaning you won't get a specific error message. Usually when this happens the white screen won't change and the iPod is frozen on that screen. Apple Support outlines a specific series of steps to take to deal with this problem, from turning the iPod Touch off to completely reinstalling the operating system if necessary.

What the White Screen Means The white screen is a sign that a software error has occurred in the iPod Touch. Unless you received an error message first, it's usually something near the root level of the iPod's operating system that caused the iPod to cease functioning normally. Rather than shut off completely, it goes to this white screen to let you know there's been an error. Unfortunately you usually lose unsaved information when this occurs. b> Resetting b> Try turning the iPod Touch off, then on again. This is the simplest way to reset your iPod Touch. If it remains stuck on the white screen, force a reset by holding down the Sleep button (top right corner) for about 10 seconds. The screen will go dark, then the Apple logo will appear. If it turns off and doesn't turn on again, the battery may be too low. b> Restore b> If a manual reset doesn't work and the screen remains stuck on a white screen, you'll need to restore the iPod to reinstall its operating system. Plug your iPod, via its charger cable, into your computer. Open iTunes and click on your iPod, then the "Restore" button on the main screen. b> Problematic Apps b> If you consistently receive a white screen while using a particular app, the app may be faulty or installed incorrectly. Try re-syncing the app to your iPod Touch and see if that solves the problem. Otherwise, you may need to delete the app to avoid the white screen problem.

My Ipod touch screen suddenly began to display everything huge. What happened?

Hi mariaelenaga,

To set a minimum font size for messages:

Choose "Mail, Contacts, Calendars" > Minimum Font Size, then choose Small, Medium, Large, Extra Large, or Giant.

Also, you may need to try the following:

Restarting and Resetting iPod touch

If something isn't working right, restarting, force quitting an application, or resetting iPod touch will likely solve the problem.

Restart iPod touch: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button until the red slider appears.

Slide your finger across the slider to turn off iPod touch. To turn iPod touch back on, press and hold the Sleep/Wake until the Apple logo appears.

If you can't turn off iPod touch or if the problem continues, you may need to reset. A

reset should be done only if turning iPod touch off and on doesn't resolve the problem.

Force quit an application: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button on top of iPod touch

for a few seconds until a red slider appears, and then press and hold the Home button

until the application quits.

Reset iPod touch: Press and hold the Sleep/Wake button and the Home button at the
same time for at least ten seconds, until the Apple logo appears.

Hope this helps.

My ipod touch works perfectly however i i turned it of once and the screen went blank almost completely. i could hardly even see it under a realy bright light. how can i fix this? or is it unfixable, do i...

Greetings,

After many years of developing for the iphone, I've come across this problem many times.
  1. If your ipod is stuck on this really dim lighting and connect be used, just leave it alone till it runs out of battery on its own.
  2. When the ipod is completely dead, just recharge fully.
  3. After the ipod is charged, proceed to turning it on.
  4. If the light is still dim, go to settings and set the brightness.
OR
  1. If your ipod is usable but you cannot change the brightness, reset the entire ipod manually (hold the on-off button for a few seconds).
  2. When ipod is shutdown, hold the on-off switch again and wait till it reboots.
  3. Then go to settings and change the brightness to your liking.

If you require further assistance, please feel free to reply to this post. Also please don't forget to rate me if I have helped.
Thank you for using FixYa.

My ipod touch has the wrong date and time. I tried re-syncing it, but it still won't change. how can I get it to be the correct time and date?

Go into the settings on the actual iPod and do it manually. So go to settings, general and then time and date. It should work that way.

Changed passcode -- ipod touch 8gb

Hi,

It seems that you will have to restore you ipod touch i'm afraid! So, i hope you have your things backed up.

Ok the steps to take are:

1) Connect the iPod Touch
2) Press and hold sleep+home until the device reboots.
3) Keep holding until that "please connect me to iTunes"-screen appears
4) iTunes says something about having detected a touch in recovery mode. Allow it to do its thing.

If you get the -18 error, proceed:

5) Disconnect the iPod Touch
6) Close iTunes
7) Reconnect the iPod Touch
8) iTunes launches and shows message as in step 4, but this time, the recovery will work

Hope this helps,
