You need to change your TV's settings and enhancements. Directly from the store and out of the box, the settings are adjusted for easiest sell in the store. That means that:
Your contrast is cranked to 100. Move this down to 50 to 60.
Your brightness may also be cranked up high. Lower it to a level nearer the middle range but not so dark as to lose detail in the shadows.
Your TV is set on "Dynamic" or "Vivid" mode. Pick "natural" or "normal" or standard.
Your sharpness is at least on, if not cranked up. Turn sharpness down or off, and the same with "Edge Enhancement" and "VSM", all to off.
Lastly, I bet you upgraded size and you are now sitting too close to the TV. Roughly, if you are sitting closer than 130 inches (about 11 foot) you might do some rearranging or save some money and get a smaller TV.

Does the blinking pause for a short time after blinking a certain number of times? Just checking whether the self-test diagnosis is able to detect the source of the problem.
SOURCE: I have a sharp Aquos
Do you get any sound at all?
I had a similar problem. I had a 52"
RCArear projection tv. It
would do this when I initially turned on the television, but then after a few
"on/off, on/off, on/off" cycles it would stay on. Eventually it
started doing it more; until finally there was a spark and that was it. The tv
was dead. The bloggers called it "the blinking green light of death" (because
of green light on the panel). The
power board is going out.ALSO holding down the Input and Menu buttons afterward will give you
some diagnostic information via 2 sets of blinking indicator lights. You may very well
have issues with capacitors on this set being that it is or very similar to the
V26 chassis. Since I have spare test lamps laying around, I would normally try
that first. If the lamp still would not stay lit, I would then suspect the
electrical chassis (capacitors). When I suspect the chassis, I can usually
verify it by pulling it out and partially disassemble it and find blown capacitors
