Hi,
Buy the package first from Garmin.com
SD card, download, disc, which ever.
in your Menu, touch maps, map info, tick the box when loaded on the device.
You may need unit I.D. to activate it,
it's in your tools-system-about menu
and serial number on the bottom of device.
I hope this helps
Regards.
Nope, the data will stay there, you just insert the SD card, use the wrench symbol/select map/select about/ tick the Australia map on/the usa map off/ and you're garmin just went Aussie.
For back roads, you will need a Topo mapping program, ie Topo USA 2008 or Topo Canada 4 (you don't mention what country you are in).
Topo Canada comes on four CDs, Topo USA 2008 comes on one DVD so you'll have to upgrade your drive, or else load the maps from someone else's computer.
In order to access the DNX7100's bulit in SD card slot, you have to press the CD/DVD eject button for about 5 secs. It will fold down to reveal the SD slot. This slot is only used for Software and Map updates via a SD Card.
