I need a new USB cable

Most Vivitar cameras do have an USB cable with a mini USB plug going into the camera and a normal USB plug going into the computer. Every electronica shop, where you can buy camera's will have such a cable. Don't forget to take your camera with you, so you can try the plug going in the camera in the store.

How to connect usb cable to w530

Your Sony DSC-W530 should have been supplied with a "dedicated" (special type) usb cable from new.

The USB cable plugs into the same jack as the A/V cable - they share the same port. This port is located on the r/hand side of the camera, under a small cover. Refer to item No.15 in diagram below.

The camera will install automatically on your pc when u connect it - allow a couple minutes for it to install. The location of your device can then be found under 'My Computuer', on your PC.

How can i opperate my camera because i constantly recieve the message "a usb device has exceeded the powe limits of its hub port"

.I had the same problem and tried it on three different computers. I assumed that inline device on the transfer cable was a resister or something that went bad. I would purchase a new cable online but don't want to get the wrong one. Anyone know how to identify the end connector that goes to the camera? I am looking at: Mini B M/M 5 PIN

I have a Nikon L19 Coolpix camera which I bought at Carrefour in Cartaya, Spain. When I came to download my photo's from the camera to the computer I found the cable supplied in the box with the camera,...

The USB cables supplied with digital cameras are almost all miniUSB to standard USB. The small connector on the cable fits into the camera, but it must be oriented a certain way. If you flip the small end the wrong direction, it won't fit. And sometimes the connection is tight. You can see on the small USB plug that it isn't perfectly symmetrical.

Computer won't recognise camera to download images

** Problem Solved **

I found it wasn't the camera entirely to blame. I tried another USB cable on another pc, and although the camera was doing the same thing as my problem, the computer recognised the camera as new hardware, and asked me how to access the pictures. So I was able to get the pictures from the camera to the computer, and then saved them on to my Kingston flash drive. So taking the flash drive to my daily PC, I plugged in my flash drive via a USB extension lead, and discovered that would read either... alarm bells rang. So I unplugged the lead, and put the flash drive straight into the computer direct. The computer recognised it immediately. So plugging in the extension lead again, and the flash drive, it read this now. So I tried the camera, and it recognised it.

So I don't know exactly what the problem was, but it was solved... saved me a lot of running around and money ;)

Is it necessary to load the battery (power supply) when the camera is connected to the computer via USB cable?

Yes. Please use the battery or dedicated AC adapter. For transferring large size of images, using AC adapter is recommended.
