Hayward pump hose and intex pool

We have 18 foot 48 inch deep intex metal frame pool with a Hayward pump and intex salt system. We used the metal clamps to secure hoses yet twice a hose has popped off and pool drained 1/3 way down while pump was on! Now we think the pump is fried as it's not working. Suggestion??? How do we get the hoses to stay on? We have "hot glue" but is that only for PVC plastic or is that safe for the pool hoses and fittings? Help!

Im thinking that hot glue would not harden completly in a direct sun situation not to mention the potential mess
What I did was go to my local hardware store and bought rubber o rings ( sorry dont remember what size) put them on the fitting slipped the hose over it and clamped on top of that area. Has been fine all summer

hope you figure it out

How much salt to put in 18x48 pool frist time

Frame Set or Easy Set?

If Frame Set = About 6,400 Gallons
If Easy Set = About 5,450 Gallons

Salt levels in a pool for a generator to operate efficiently...
2700 ppm Minimum to 3400 ppm Maximum, 3200 being Ideal.

So...
In pool water with NO Salt reading at all - 0, then you will add 2.67 lbs. of "Pool Salt" (which is almost Food Grade Quality! - NOT Softener Salt!) per 100 gallons of capacity.

This chart has lots of useful info: take a look

My pool is cloudy and I added clarifier and it still won't clear. I checked the salt count and it's reading 1100 ppm. We have a 15 foot round 48 inch deep pool. I also shock the pool weekly...

1st... Your salt count should be at 3000 ppm... For your size pool, the start-up salt needed should be about 95 to 110 lbs..
2nd... Run your pump for 24 hrs without the chlorinator after you have reached the 3000 ppm to properly disolve the salt and use only "pool salt"
3rd... Set your pump at 12 hrs and your chlorinator at 10 to 11 of those hrs until you have reached the desired chlorine level.
4th.. After your pool water has cleared, within 2 to 3 days...clean your chlorinator electrolytic cell and adjust your time down to maintain the proper chlorine level..

Hope this helps and if it does, please rate and comment....
Good Luck!!!

I just need to know how to set the salt water system. i have an 18ft pool and have put 3 bags of salt in so far.

You don't say how deep it is. Since you say 18 foot pool, I presume it is round. AT 2 foot depth = 3817; 3 foot depth = 5726 gallons; 4 foot depth 7634; 5 foot depth is 9543. Your salt bag should tell you how much to put in referencing the gallons.

I hope this helps. Thanks for using FixYa.com

Pool pump shutting off/tripping the circuit breaker

What kind of pump are you using?
Sounds like the Intex is restricting water flow there by heating up your pump and shutting it down..
You may need to re plumb everything to handle the flow.
Intex hoses and fittings are different than the industry standards just so the can make you buy from them
Do what ever it takes to get good flow

How much salt to start with a 15ft round pool

Assuming you have the Intex salt water system and the easy set pool, here's what the manual says:

15x33" - 65 pounds (80 for metal frame)
15x36 - 65 pounds (100 for metal frame)
15x42 - 80 pounds (110 for metal frame)
15x48 - 95 pounds (N/A for metal frame)

hope this helps!

Keeps saying low salt level

I would say the rain is diluting the system at this point, or the system sensor has gone out. But if you had heavy rains I would be looking at that idea first.
