Question about Technics SL-1200MK2 Turntable

1 Answer

Fire extinguisher! I played a gig on the weekend using my own equipment. Some fool set off a fire extinguisher containing a fine white powder. It covered everything from my cdj's, my DJM 800 mixer, and of course my technics 1200's. How do I clean this mess and stop everthing from sticking. I have tried an air compressor, damp cloths, etc. This powder is just everywhere. Please help, Cam

Pull the safety catch, aim at the bottom of the fire (not the top of the flame), and compress the trigger.

How do i test fuel pump

When you first turn your key to acc., you should here the fuel pump prime itself. You'll have to listen carefully, so turn off the radio, heater etc. if that works, you may have to check if it gets to the fuel rail. Having a fire extinguisher (class b at least) handy is recommended. There is always risk of fire when testing fuel systems, especially if you don't use the proper diagnostic equipment. Most people don't own thousands of dollars worth of tools, but if you know the systems, and have basic mechanical, electrical, physical, knowledge, you are able to save hundreds, sometimes thousands in repairs. Being unable to determine the skill levels of the askers, it is hard to give advice in hopes people don't hurt themselves or others. You will have to disconnect your fuel lines and place them in a container and try to start your car. If it pumps fuel into the container..your pump is fine. Gasoline likes to catch on fire, so be careful! No start conditions are difficult to diagnose.

Motherboard is birning. What to do?

Remove power cord and disconnect battery. If the fire does not stop use a fire extinguisher suitable for use on electrical material. CO2 is the best. Do not use foam or water fire extinguishers.
